Dashcam footage has captured the moment a speeding Proton smashed into a Porsche 911 GT3 RS near the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur on May 27.

The footage, captured from a following vehicle, shows a white GT3 RS cruising down the left lane of the highway. Out of nowhere, a Proton speeds into the scene and attempts to overtake the Porsche. However, the driver appears to overreact to the movements of another car, hits the brakes and swerves left into the 911, forcing it into a crash barrier.

As these images that were shared with us reveal, the damage caused to the Porsche is quite significant. For starters, the front bumper has been torn to shreds following its high-speed impact with the barrier. Elsewhere, large gashes are visible down the passenger side.

No one likes crashing, especially not into a Porsche

As if things couldn’t get any worse for the Proton owner, we’re told that the driver doesn’t have insurance or a license.

The damage sustained to the 911 is definitely repairable but it won’t be cheap. Will a Proton driver be able to afford the repairs? Who knows, but we’re doubtful.

With that in mind, it seems probable that a bank in Malaysia will be handing out a loan to a certain Proton owner in the near future.
