GANGSTERS, STRIPPERS & TIPPERS: MEMOIRS OF A DJ – BLENDS The Basics of Learning DJing, MIXES the personalities of DJ Kool Ken and DJ Darkbody, all MASHED-UP within the Hustle-N-Grind of the cruel and harsh Detroit’s local nightclub and strip-club scene.
Disappointed & frustrated with his career choices after coming back home from a four-year university in early 2000, Kool Ken -- “The Koolest Man In The Land---The Coldest On The 1’s and 2’s” -- decided to create A KOOL PLAN OF ACTION behind his LOVE & PASSION FOR MUSIC to become a DJ. While in Broadcasting Arts School, Kool Ken runs into and becomes friends with DJ Darkbody. DJ Darkbody decides to mentor and train his friend Kool Ken and he soon is taught and learns that there’s a TON more than meets the eye when it comes to BECOMING A DJ.
Inside the first three chapters of the book, which takes place between the years of 2000-2005, both DJs tell about their experiences and dealings with: Their FIRST-TIME linking up (CH. 1: “IT’S WHERE I STARTED”), a TRUE lesson in Creating Kool Ken’s Own DJ Style (CH. 2: “EARLY DAYZ”), Learning how to Be Confident yet Humble as a DJ and Under-cutting DJs (CH. 3: “MR. KEBA-KABA”).
Chapters 4 thru 6, (CH. 4: “WHEN KEEPING IT REAL GOES WRONG (THE MODLE CHICK)” AND (CH 6: “CHILLI-SAUCE”) which takes place between the years 2005-2010, deal with learning the “UP’s & DOWNS” and ”THE RIGHT & WRONG WAY” of dealing with females at the club. How to ALWAYS STAYING READY/BEING PREPARED when it comes to DJing (CH. 5: “THE GREATEST PARTY I EVER MISSED (CLUB 7)”).
Finally, in chapters 7 and 8 (CH. 7: “CLUB LE’ ELEGANT”) and (CH. 8: “LIVE FROM THE CHING-A-LING”) both DJs speak and reflect about their experiences in local Detroit Strip Clubs. In chapter (CH. 9: “TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL”) speaks about different ways of branding yourself as a DJ.
This project is to be released in five different formats. A “Paperback Edition” book, a “Limited Edition Hardback” book version with four additional “Hard-hitting” enthused “Bonus Chapters” strictly speaking about aspects of “THE DJING GAME”.
