A DIY Face Mask Recipe That Fixes Acne and Makes Skin Glow

We turned to Tiffany Masterson, founder of additive-free skin care line Drunk Elephant, for some help in turning our kitchen into a skin rehab clinic. And, luckily for our complexions, she obliged and gave us her at-home face mask recipe. Based on the brand's popular TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum that gently resurfaces the skin, this recipe is packed with nourishing fruit enzymes and natural antibacterial ingredients to leave you looking like a glowing goddess (and not an inebriated zoo animal). The recipe: —1/4 cup of papaya. Masterson says, "It's incredible for your skin due to its high content of an enzyme called Papain that exfoliates and brightens." —5 dark concord grapes. "Grape skins contain a compound called resveratrol which acts as a firming agent and improves radiance, tone and elasticity of the skin." —1 teaspoon fresh lime juice. Masterson explains the citrus "keeps acne-causing bacteria growth at bay, has antibiotic properties, and tightens pores." —3 teaspoons of plain Greek yogurt. "Lactose enzymes dissolve dirt and nourish your skin." —1/4 cup of warmed raw honey. "It's full of antioxidants, it's antibacterial, and it clarifies skin by opening up and unclogging pores." —1/2 teaspoon turmeric. "Reduces inflammation, oiliness, and pigmentation." To

The recipe:

—1/4 cup of papaya. Masterson says, "It's incredible for your skin due to its high content of an enzyme called Papain that exfoliates and brightens."

—5 dark concord grapes. "Grape skins contain a compound called resveratrol which acts as a firming agent and improves radiance, tone and elasticity of the skin."

—1 teaspoon fresh lime juice. Masterson explains the citrus "keeps acne-causing bacteria growth at bay, has antibiotic properties, and tightens pores."

—3 teaspoons of plain Greek yogurt. "Lactose enzymes dissolve dirt and nourish your skin."

—1/4 cup of warmed raw honey. "It's full of antioxidants, it's antibacterial, and it clarifies skin by opening up and unclogging pores."

—1/2 teaspoon turmeric. "Reduces inflammation, oiliness, and pigmentation."

To do:

First, warm the honey in a small pot over low heat for a few seconds and then add to a blender with the fresh papaya, Greek yogurt, lime juice, grapes and turmeric. Mix until smooth, then apply a thin layer to the face. Allow to dry for 10 minutes, then gently remove with a warm wet washcloth in circular motion to slough away dead skin cells. Use once a week or whenever your skin needs a boost.
