Bahrain MP praises social media
Manama : Bahrain’s MP Abdulhamid Al Najjar praised the citizens for their vigilance in raising the price difference issue through social media.
The MP condemned the inspectors from the consumer protection directorate for failing to uncover the pricing scandal that has prompted outrage among shoppers in Bahrain.
The scandal reveals the inspectors’ failure in monitoring prices and detecting irregularities, he said. He however thanked the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry for its quick action in shutting the two supermarkets, which violated consumer protection law, pending investigation.
