Sentul City is a planned community located in Babakan Madang, Bogor Regency, West Java, Indonesia. Recent developments includes a shopping mall, a convention centre, an eco-tour development and two golf courses. The AEON Mixed Use project itself consist of a 3-level shopping mall with an area of 368.508 Sqm, as well as a 25-floor tower apartment that consists of 725 Units. Overall, the entire project size stands at 406.586 Sqm.

Typcially at the Handover phase, alot of time is wasted as many inspections are carried out amongst differentstakeholders. A single defect might possibly cause a delay in the timeline. Furthermore, Handover of structural work phase was stipulated on September 2017. For this particular project, the forward thinking PT PP (Persero) Tbk wanted to start digitizing their project management process. Traditionally, huge bulks of paperwork was only way to have defects recorded and rectified. Site engineers and Project Managers have long felt the strain by depending on messy paperwork and wanted to have a comprehensive platform to carry out defects rectification. They needed a lightweight tool to be used on the field and at the same time, ensure that all defects are accurately captured, swiftly communicated to relevant parties while appropriate corrective actions are taken to rectify defects in systematic order.

FINALCAD took short note of PT PP (Persero) Tbk’s concerns and proposed its Defect Management module enabled with on-site BIM capabilities. FINALCAD eliminates margin for error by empowering users to record issues in details, accurately and then effectively disseminate information to respective stakeholders. The process will then be reapeating until the defect has been rectified and closed by the main contractor.

Project managers often need a simplified tool to aid reporting of project status. Higher management requires important data such as how many defects retified, inspections and comments generated. There is a lot of information to record down along with a need to itemised details as well as time taken to tabulate the reports. Now, all it takes is for user to synchronise and reports could be generated almost immediately.
