回転すし超激戦区上野アメ横屈指の名店。一部の例外を除きほぼ全品税抜き2貫149円(令和二年12月15日時点。但し中トロ、活けあおやぎ、活けミル貝、活けアワビなど一部1貫149円)。白身の品揃えが豊富で、楽しみにする好事家が多い。ヒラメ、真鯛、スズキ、黒鯛、ほうぼうなどは、定番で入荷していることが多く、イサキ、黒ムツ、鯒、金目鯛が入荷していることもある。さらに通いつめていると時々驚きの高級魚や珍しい変わりネタ(ヒメダイ(オゴダイ)、マツカワガレイ、ハタ、キジハタ、メヌケ、甘鯛、石鯛、石垣鯛、カワハギ、金目鯛、コショウ鯛、連子鯛、イトヨリ鯛、太刀魚、マコガレイ、石ガレイ、オジサン、ゴソ、カイワリ、メジナ、ヤガラ、ボラ、ブダイ、等々)に出会えることもあった。常連になっても飽きることながい。冬場の白子は名物。楽しみにしている常連が多い。貝の品揃えも比較的豊富。活けホッキ、活け赤貝、活けアオヤギ、活けミル貝、活けツブ貝などの他、数年前にはオオミゾ貝といった変わりネタが入荷していたこともあり美味だった。『今日のおすすめ』を楽しみに11:30 a.m.の開店時から客足が絶えない。「美味しいものを絶やさずに」という心意気は同じエリアの他店の追随を許さない。2018年の夏に天然のブリが提供されていた。ブリと言えば「寒ブリ」と思っている人は、一度大江戸で夏の天然ブリを食べてみると良い。清涼感があって身が締まりすこぶる美味だった。美味しいものをお値ごろ価格でという人には奇跡の名店と言える。値段が一律で分かり易いからかコロナ禍以前は外国人旅行客にも人気だった。超満員の店内で来店客が次々と叫ぶ注文品を記憶して素早く握る板前さんの手際の良さには毎回感心する一方で、ピーク時の嵐のような高回転の中でたくさんの注文を覚えるのは流石に大変そうなので、様子を見ながら間隔を置いて注文するマナーを客として心がけている。また板前さんが注文を忘れているようだったら穏やかに確認する、座るときはなるべく詰めて座る、あるいは食事中でも席を詰めて複数の来店客が座れるようにする、などのエチケットを個人的には心がけている。カード決済が可能になり小銭を出し入れする手間がなくなり利便性が高まってたことも嬉しい。
One of the best sushi restaurants in Ueno, Tokyo, especially for oversea travelers. Here is why. You can enjoy almost all kinds of sushi for 149 yen for two pieces before tax. So you know exactly how much to pay for what you've eaten. The place is especially well-known for a wide selection of white meat fish, as well as for fresh surf clam, or 'ike-hokki'. Fresh cod's white roe is a must-eat in the winter time, but of course there is plenty of other good stuff, which is recommended on a few blackboards hung on the walls inside the restaurant and also on one outside. To make out what they say you need to read some basic Japanese, though, but for all the regular items they have a visual menu with English translation. They accept credit cards, so payment is easy. Anyhow, they won't let you down.
