"Validating Subscriptions"
When I first launch the game, it gets stuck on this screen that says 'Validating Subscriptions'. There is no option to close the window and there's a timer on the top right.

It's reached like 20 minutes now and still nothing has happened. I launched this game a couple times and it keeps happening.

There are a few lines of code that is in the window.

The latest line is the following: "Debug: setMode(WTM_PUBLISH_QUERY_DONE)"

I ran into this same problem. The solution that worked for me, was clicking on workshop from the launcher (right under play) and then checking the agree w/ Steam workshop TOS, and hitting accept. It seems like it is hanging up looking for your agreement status with the workshop, even if you don't have anything subscribed or submitted.

Hope that helps someone.

Good to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.

CTRL + C to temporarily fix the problem. It feels like an indefinite problem, though. It pops up every time I run the game.

do you have subscribed mods ? do you have published mods ? did you try to enter the start parameter "SKIPINTRO" and or "NOMODS" ? (without "")

Yes, I have published some workshop maps but I haven't done that yet. I'll give that a go and see what happens! Thanks!

Hi guys, I had this same problem. For me it was a corrupt player profile. To fix it I went into the local files (Age2HD) folder and deleted the player.nfp file and then went into steam Age2HD properties and unchecked the "Enable Steam Cloud Synchronisation" and then the game worked.
