The selection will be made through written examination. Counselling will be done on the basis of merit score in written exam for the allotment of seats in various departments.
Important Instructions
- 1. Applications as per given format should be accompanied by self attested copies of (I) Permanent Registration Certificate from Delhi Medical Council (For MBBS) and Permanent Registration Certificate from Delhi Dental Council or State Dental council (For BDS) (II)Internship Completion Certificate (III)one passport size photograph (IV) Caste Certificate or PWD (Ortho) Certificate from government hospital (if any).
- 2. Undertaking must be signed by the candidate.
- 3. Incomplete or unsigned and without self attested application will be rejected and no communication will be entertained in this regard.
- 4. Seats are reserved for SC, ST, and OBC & PWD (Ortho) as per Central Govt. Rules issued from time to time.
- 5. DMC (For MBBS) and DDC or State Dental Council (For BDS) Registration Certificate are mandatory and will be submitted with application form or at the time of counselling. No candidate will be allowed to attend the counselling, if he/she will not submit DMC (For MBBS) and DDC or State Dental Council (For BDS).
- 6. (i) For OBC Candidates please attach certificate from appropriate authority, which is meant for the post under the Central Government of India, and Certified that the Candidate does not belong to Creamy Layer. Date of issue of Certificate should be after 01.04.2017 in annexure 10. (ii) For SC, ST – certificate should be issued by Tehsildar or above rank officer in format of State Govt/Central Govt. of India.
- 7. Those who have already done one year Junior Residency in any Govt. Hospital will not be considered and need not apply.

Minimum educational qualification for VMMC Recruitment 2017 for the Staff Nurse posts is given below.
- B.Sc. (Hons.) in (Nursing) from a recognised University or Institute / Regular course in B.Sc. Nursing from a recognised University or Institute / Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) from recognised University or Institute;
- Registered as Nurse or Nurse and Midwife (RN or RN and RM) with State Nursing Council.
- Six months experience in Minimum fifty bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualification mentioned above.
Or
- Diploma in General Nursing and midwifery from a recognised Board or Council.
- Registered as Nurse or Nurse and Midwife (RN or RN and RM) with State Nursing Council.
- Two and half years experience in minimum fifty bedded hospital after acquiring the above educational qualification.
Age Limit
The age limit for the post of Nursing Officer as on 01.01.2017 will be as under :
A candidate for contractual appointment for the post of Nursing Officer (Staff Nurse) must have attained the minimum age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of more than 30 years on the first day of January of the year in which advertisement is published i.e. 01.01.2017. The candidate should not be born before 2nd January, 1987 and not born after 1st January, 1996.
Relaxation in upper age limit:-
- (i) Upper age limit shall be relaxable upto maximum limit 5 years only for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for the Physically Handicapped Persons.
- (ii) Candidates applying under any of the reserved category viz. SC/ST/OBC will be considered subject to submission of Caste certificate on a prescribed format issued by the competent authority. OBC candidates should not belong to Creamy Layer. Their Sub-caste should be tallied with the Central List of OBC, failing which their candidature will not be considered under any of the applied reserved category and will be treated as UR.

- There will be single stage of examination in online mode in English. The Examination shall be objective type (Multiple Choice Question) of 90 minute duration with provision of negative marking for wrong answer.
- Final merit list for the post of Nursing Officer shall be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the online objective type examination which will determine their position. If two or more candidates secure equal marks, the candidate older in age shall be placed above
- Date, Time and Venue of Examination: – Date, time and venue of examination shall be intimated to the candidates through Notice uploaded on the official website in due course of recruitment process as well as E-Admit Cards which can be downloaded from the website (www.vmmcsjh.nic.in).
- ADMIT CARD: The candidates may download/print their admit cards from the website (www.vmmcsjh.nic.in) in and appear for the examination at the given Centre.
- Examination Centre: Online examination centre will be Delhi NCR region only. Candidate will be required to provide the detail of Aadhar Card in application form and bring the original during the online examination for verification.
- PHYSICAL FITNESS: The offer of appointment to the said post will be subject to physical fitness from the competent medical board for which he/she will be sent to the designated Medical Authority by the concerned Institution before joining the post.

- 1. Application Process: Online applications are invited from Indian Nationals in the prescribed format for the posts of Nursing Officer (Staff Nurse) in VMMC & Safdarjang Hospital New Delhi on contract basis for a period of 06 (six) months only or till vacancies are filled on regular basis whichever is earlier.
- 2. Application Fees: Application fees for General/OBC candidates is Rs. 500/- + Bank Transaction Charge, fees for SC/ST candidates is Rs. 200/- + Bank Transaction Charge, Persons with disabilities are exempted from payment of application fee subject to submission of necessary certificate from a competent authority in support of their claim of disability. - 3. Application will be accepted by the online system only after submission of prescribed fee as mentioned at point no. 2.
- 4. Candidates are advised to fill in the online application form with the utmost care as no correspondence regarding change of details shall be entertained at any later stage.
- 5. No certificates/mark sheets are required to be submitted along with ‘On-line application forms’. Candidates shall have to produce all required documents pertaining to eligibility for verification before joining and/or when called for by the competent authority failing which he/she shall be disqualified.
- 6. Before filling of the Online Application, for convenience, the Candidate should have scanned images of following documents ready (soft copy) in JPG/JPEG format only. (a) Scanned copy of recent Colored Photograph (Max size 50KB) (b) Scanned Signature of the candidate (Max size 20KB) (c) A valid E-mail id, Mobile Number and aadhar no. is mandatory for the submission of Online Application. - 7. Mobile phones/Communication devices/gadgets, electronic watches & calculators etc. shall not be permitted in the examination Hall.
- 8. The Confirmation Page is not required to be sent. However, the candidate must retain his/her Confirmation Page and fee receipt for record and future reference.
- 9. Candidates are required to keep with them aadhar card and shall produce the same on demand at the time of examination.
- 10. Candidates are advised to go through the official website of Safdarjang Hospital, www.vmmc-sjh.nic.in regularly for further updates.
- 11. He/She may have to work in shifts and can be posted at any department of this Hospital.
- 12. In case, any information given or declaration by the candidate is found to be false or if the candidate has wilfully suppressed any material information relevant to his/her appointment, he/she will be liable to be removed from the service and any action taken as deemed fit by the appointing authority.
- 13. The appointment will be for Six months or till the joining of regular appointee in this post, whichever is earlier. The appointment can be terminated by giving a notice of one month from either side.
- 14. Safdarjang Hospital shall not be responsible for any loss/ injury caused to the candidates in course of appearing in the examination
- 15. The appointee will not be granted any claim or right for regular appointment.
- 16. No Travelling allowance will be paid for appearing for online examination/verification/appointment.
- 17. Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.
- 18. In case of any dispute, decision of Medical Superintendent will be final.
- 19. All disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi Courts.

VMMC Recruitment 2017 Eligibility
Minimum educational qualification for VMMC Recruitment 2017 for the Senior Resident posts is given below.
The Candidate should possess Post Graduate Degree/Diploma (approved by MCI) in the concerned speciality after M.B.B.S. failing which MBBS with two years’ experience in a Govt. organization out of which one year in the concerned speciality.
- ELIGIBILITY FOR ENDOCRINOLOGY- Desired qualification is MD/DNB in Medicine or Paediatrics
- ELIGIBILITY FOR HAEMOTOLOGY – The candidate should possess MD or equivalent in Medicine or Paediatrics. Candidate with M.D. or equivalent in Pathology will not be eligible.
Age Limit
- 33 years (For General candidates)
- 38 years (For SC/ST candidates)
- 36 years (For OBC candidates)
- For PWD candidates- upper age-limit is relaxable as per Govt. of India rules.

VMMC Recruitment 2017 Selection Process
The selection will be made on the basis of consolidated marks obtained in both i.e. written examination and interview/counsellingas follows:
- i) 80% weightage will be given for marks obtained in the written examination and 20% weightage will be given for marks obtained in the interview/counselling.
- ii) Three candidates will be shortlisted in written examination for each vacant post.

- 1. Applicants should submit their application in the prescribed format as per Annexure-I alongwith the attested copies of all the relevant documents in support of their candidature for the post. One passport size photograph should also be appended. The application addressed to the Medical Superintendent, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi-110029 should be submitted in DIARY & DISPATCH SECTION of this institution (near Gate no. 2 and near Bank of Baroda, Safdarjung Hospital Branch). The application send by post must be having written prominently on the top of the envelope “Application for the post of Senior Resident”. LAST DATE OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION IS 22-3-2017 TILL 3.00 P.M.
- 2. Undertaking must be signed by the candidate.
- 3. The institution will not be responsible for any postal delay.
- 4. Crucial date for determination of eligibility with reference to age, educational qualification and experience etc. will be the last date of submission of application form in this institution.
- 5. Candidate must be registered with the Delhi Medical Council/ Dental Council of India. DMC/DCI certificate for both MBBS and PG is mandatory with application. However, the candidates, who have applied for registration with DMC/DCI and have enclosed receipt of DMC/DDC, will be allowed to appear in written examination provisionally and they will be allowed to join, if selected, after production of certificate of registration with DMC/DDC.
- 6. The tenure of Senior Resident is for three years including any service rendered as Senior Resident earlier on adhoc/regular basis in any Govt. of India/state government hospital. The appointment will be initially for a period of one year, which could be extended for a period of three years on an annual basis subject to the satisfactory work & conduct report from the concerned HOD.
- 7. Other service conditions will be applicable as per service conditions prescribed from time to time by the Govt. of India.
- 8. The candidate who is already in Govt. service should submit No Objection Certificate from the employer at the time of counselling.
- 9. Inter – hospital /Institution transfer shall not be permitted.
- 10. The candidate must bring following original certificates at the time of writtena. Certificate in support of age (10th certificate) b. Medical registration with DMC, DCI or any State Registration for Dental Surgery candidate. c. Mark sheets of MBBS / BDS / MD /MS / DNB / part I, II and final year. d. Internship Completion Certificate. e. MD/MS/DNB/Diploma Pass Certificate. f. SC/ ST/OBC Caste certificate in the prescribed format of Govt. of India. g. Under graduate / Post graduate attempt certificate. h. Experience certificate, if any. i. Valid address proof. j. Copy of Aadhar card **Candidate must submit the latest OBC certificate issued on or after 01-4-2016 by the competent authority of State/Govt. of India in Format given by DOPT Govt. of India or for the appointment to the Central Government Job.
- 11. All eligible candidates are requested to collect their admit card for written examination from Academic Section, Room no.14, Ground Floor, VMM College Building.
- 12. No correspondence shall be entertained after the last date of closing of application.
- 13. Incomplete or un-signed application will be rejected and no communication will be entertained in this regard.
- 14. No separate call letters for written examination and interview/counselling will be issued. Candidates are requested to visit official website (www.vmmc-sjh.nic.in ) of this institution at regular interval for the date of written examination and interview/counselling and any further notifications.
- 15. List of eligible candidates and selected candidates will be displayed on the official website and notice board of Academic Section of this hospital.
- 16. Tentative date of joining will be 10 days from the date of issue of the result.
- 17. The offer of appointment will stand cancelled, if acceptance to the post will not be received within the stipulated time period and the post will be offered to the next candidate in the waiting list.
