Rate this book
Talk around town says she’s the party girl, the one least likely to settle down. When Brianne Reed wants to appease her family with the façade that she’s ready to settle down, she enlists her new-found friends help. She wants to prove them all wrong, even if it is fake.

Jarrod Pierce moved to a small-town to get away from the bustling city life. He throws himself into work with an unlikely companion who quickly becomes his best friend and roommate. But when Brianne begs him for help, their relationship quickly spirals out of control.

What starts as a simple request soon becomes so much more. Brianne is determined to stay friends, but Jarrod’s still fighting the demons from his past. He wants to keep her as far from that part of his life as possible. When things don’t work out as planned, Jarrod must make a choice, and he doesn’t know if he’ll survive it. But if it keeps Brianne safe, he’ll do whatever it takes.

K.R. Reese was born and raised in Ohio. Her love for reading started at an early age, and stuck as she grew older. It wasn't until high school that she became obsessed with her many ideas and began writing them down. Though she had a knack for writing, she didn't publish any of her work until 2016 which started her Wilson Creek Series. Since then, she's released another series, as well as many standalone books.

She still resides in Ohio with her husband, their four children, and the crazy family dog. When she isn't writing, she's spending time with her family, capturing many memories with her camera, or exploring her musical interests. She lives on iced coffee, is a concert junkie, and never stops working.

I really wanted to like this book because I won it in a takeover, but the author is trying so hard to stay in the present tense that the book is coming across more as a narration of telling rather than showing. The constant use of the characters names in place of he/she makes the reading really slow. The plotline is good and even though I haven't read the previous book in the series, I don't feel like I'm missing out. I do like that the author is bringing in characters from the other books because they are a close-knit group. I think with some editing the storyline could be pulled together to make it a good novel.

This was a good read. I now need to go back and read the rest of the series. I was holding off til I checked out the authors style and her characters before committing and now I am ready. The story was a fast read but had loads of goodies and some suspense. I love these two and how secrets have caused some real problems. Both have a past but it's Jarrod's that jumps up and bites them.

Great read made me want more of the series. Yes this is a standalone read from an author I haven't read before but now I want the story on the other friends I was introduced to.

What a great ending to this series. These 2 went from friends to hot & steamy with danger thrown in quick. The author does a wonderful job of making all the characters so lovable. I really hate to see this series end but I really look forward for what lays ahead with this author!
