福島第一原発事故由来の放射性物質は私たちの町横浜にも降り、市内の小中学校、特別支援学校、保育園では、雨水利用後の泥などが汚染されました。また、屋上や側溝などの除染により、放射能に高濃度に汚染された除去物が発生しました。 

これらの放射性汚染物は、いまだに市内の複数の保育園、および小中学校に保管されたままとなっています。中には8,000ベクレル/kgを超え、国の指定廃棄物となったものや、24,000ベクレル/kg近く汚染された除去物があります。指定廃棄物が学校に保管されているのは全国で横浜市だけです。 

このような放射性汚染物が、特に放射能の感受性が強い子供たちの生活空間にあっていいわけはありません。

The petition to remove highly concentrated radioactive contamination from public schools and child rearing facilities in Yokohama City.

The radioactive contamination from Tokyo Electric Power Co.’s Fukushima Daiichi power plant, has also affected our city, Yokohama.

At public schools and child rearing facilities in Yokohama, highly contaminated mud from rainwater recycling tanks and contamination from school roofs and gutters were gathered and stored, and still remain there today.

Including so called scheduled waste of the country; which is specified as over 8,000Bq/kg, the total of this contamination comes up to 10 t. The contamination over 100Bq/kg had been strictly stored in nuclear power plants before Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.  There is also very highly-contaminated waste, around 24,000 Bq/kg included.

The radioactive contamination should not be kept in the daily living space of children and babies who are highly sensitive to radiation, as you know.  We believe this shouldn’t be like this.

Unfortunately, Yokohama is the only city in Japan where highly concentrated radioactive contamination is stored in these facilities.

So, now we demand that Yokohama city should remove all of these from public schools and child rearing facilities (including contamination which was already buried in school yards) and relocate them to Yokohama North Sludge Recycling Unit, which has enough room for everything.
