All is fair in love and war, especially when the loot is a woman he’s set on having.

Sean Rivers lives with a dangerous secret. He possesses a forbidden art. As geomancist, it is in his power to destroy landscapes with earthquakes and volcanoes. Knowing his kind is hunted by forces of both good and evil, Sean’s job as mixologist in Cartagena, Colombia is the perfect cover. Until Asia, a zesty beautician walks into his life and wrecks the very laws of physics.

When Sean and Asia compete for the premises where Sean intends to open his cocktail bar, he pulls out all the stops to win the challenge … to Asia’s detriment. Together they end up catering for the guests of a drug baron who rented Isla del Pirata for a week-long birthday celebration, and the kingpin has no intention of letting Asia leave. Ever. If Sean is to rescue her, he’ll have to use his art, blow his cover, and maybe even his life.

Another fabulous read and this is turning into a really great series.

Sean Rivers is a geomancist. But he doesn’t use his gift. Having a forbidden art puts a target on your back. And after his sister died he started a new life. Now he’s nearly there, he almost has the money he needs to open his own bar. The one they dreamed about.

Asia keeps her family together. She supports her brother and grandmother. Her plan to open her own spa is almost within her reach. She just needs some money.

So Sean and Asia both desperately want the same building. Both need money. And both are played by Cain.

I’ve read the rest of these books and apart from his dubious fashion sense. I’ve never really spent much time thinking about Cain. This book was different. I absolutely loathed him for most of it. Yes I know greater good and all that but I still felt he deserved a swift kick in the ….

I’ll admit I struggle sometimes when it comes to just going with it. Cains plotting and involvement bothered me more than it probably should. But despite that I still really enjoyed this book.

Each book features a different couple and while they get their hea. The series is building and I can’t wait to discover how it ends. But don’t get me started on Godfrey and Nicholas.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by the author.

Charmaine Pauls’ Forbidden Arts is a series that that i love immensely.
It’s a one of a kind series, with romance and suspense in a paranormal world that is unique.
So,getting the ARC’s of this series is a gift i am most grateful for!
Especially knowing that all i have to do in return,is give my honest opinion….
How lucky can a girl get?

In Geomancist,we meet Sean Rivers, who is trying to make his late twinsister’s dream come true.
He needs a little more time, and then he’s got the money to buy Jerry’s Pub.
He plans to turn it into a cocktail bar Maddy would’ve loved, using his skills as a mixologist.
Only then Asia Sommer turns up….having véry different plans for it!
But he’s not going to give up thát easily….

When he sees Cain Jones and his team at the pub,he knows immediately he’s got something to do with the risen problem.
Hearing Cain bought the pub,and hearing how he can still become the owner, makes him see red.
Being blackmailed into doing what Cain wants,is the last thing he wants.
Being forced to take the job drug lord Juan Hernandez offered, just to find out Godfrey’s plans,is nót on his agenda!
Finding out Asia is going too, brings out very different feelings…..
She’s gotten under his skin, and his priorities shift to keeping her safe.
He can’t let Juan get his hands on her….he’ll destroy her!

If Sean thinks he’s going to send her away from the only chance to make enough money to make her dreams come true,he’s got another thing coming!
This is thé opportunity to make enough money to send her little brother to the school he deserves, and she sure as hell is going to take it!
Until she finds out why he’s so set on sending her away….

Sean and Asia’s story was heartbreaking.
Both were forced into a situation that could get them killed.
By a man that didn’t seem to care about anything other than getting his hands on the enemy.
And even though they got close during their time on the island, too many secrets stood between them to make it work.
Was there a way to get past those????

I loved Geomancist!
Sean may have struggled with guilt over his sister’s death,he still opened his heart to Asia.
Taking that chance to feel again,to live again.
To leave the pain of losing his sister behind him,and move forward.
The pain he felt when she pushed him away, was heartbreaking.

And Asia…she’d been só strong for most of her life!
Taking the responsibility of raising her little brother,of giving him what she thought he wanted, and not thinking of her own needs.
Finding herself in the clutches of Juan was the last thing she wanted, and even though Sean did all he could to keep her safe,he failed….
I understood she felt betrayed, but to know she felt that way about the wrong man?

Knowing where they are now, makes me happy.
Knowing what their plans are feels good.
All i want now,is Necromancist!

5* Explosive stars from me

I'm very excited to review the new fifth installment of Seven Forbidden Arts series Geomancist, i don't know how to begin reviewing it, i want to say so much about it without spoiling anything. This story brings a fresh new vibe in the series and three words can definitely describe it.. Enjoyable, Passionate and Agonizing (i'll explain that later).

In this book the main characters are the very cryptic (he has a reason for that) and introvert character Sean who at first didn't give away any emotion about his feelings either in good or bad moments but when it came about the safety of our heroine, every wall he built tore down in an instant. The other main character is the sweet yet fierce Asia (i love her name, it's very unique) who fights to build to make a better life for her brother, she tries to overcome every obstacle on her way even if that threatens her freedom or even her life.

I loved the interactions between Sean and Asia it was really fun, you could see the attraction between them from the beginning but there many things that keep them apart because Sean has a BIG secret he is a forbidden practitioner a Geomancist, how can he explain to Asia that he has the ability to create earthquakes, to break the ground in half or that he can make a volcano explode???? (yeah really difficult to say that to someone!!!!)

As an authentic agonizing story emotions like anxiety was one of the many i felt all the time, about what awful things will be done by the Villain of the story a Drug Lord named Juan . You see Sean and Asia in order to make a good and fast income both for their own important reasons had to work for him, Sean as a bartender and Asia as a beautician but this place is full of danger especially for Asia but thanks to her good fortune Sean is there and will do anything in his power to ensure her safety.

I have many more things to say about this story, it was like reading a suspense romantic adventure with many more elements in it, action was one of them and made it even more interesting for me. Also i was super excited to read about the characters from the previous books, it was like a team of heroes fighting against "evil".....

I recommend it to everyone and not only to ones that loves fantasy romance, i'm pretty sure you won't be disappoint as i said it has a great mixture with many elements, beautiful background and very interesting characters. That being said i couldn't finish this review without saying how beautiful the cover of this book is and that i'm looking forward for the next book of the series.

My Review

Sean is a Geomancist it’s a powerful gift but he lacks basic control when an accident involving his twin sister occurs he naturally blames himself for her death this haunts him to the point that he then refuses to access his talents.

Now he is in hiding from gift hunters whilst who would steal his ability’s and saving to own his own bar a dream that was his sisters that he is determined to achieve in her name. When a spanner is thrown into the works in the gorgeous form of Asia Sommer. Sean then finds himself manipulated and pitted against her by Cain Jones the leader of a powerful paranormal task force.

Now both on a secluded island for the birthday party of drug Lord: Sean as a mixologist and Asia a masseur the two are thrown headfirst into unimaginable danger when the drug baron Juan takes a shine to Asia deciding he wants her for his own.

Sean realising they have both been played by Cain so much more than he first imagined now has one goal getting Asia off the island alive a task that is proving challenging. To make matters worst he now is having difficulties accessing his abilities which basically leaves him wide open to attack.

This was an excellent read it was well written and this one really did have my heart in my mouth throughout. I loved Sean as a character he was an absolute diamond. I also liked Asia though I did dislike how stubborn she was when finally learning the whole truth and what she imagined Sean’s part in it was. I felt she was cutting off her nose to spite her face slightly.

The chemistry here was also red hot and I enjoyed this one a lot. There are also appearances from previous characters in the series and it was great to catch up with them as well. Cain here really came across as a complete ass with all of his manipulations and the way that he used Asia putting her in direct danger; though I do get it’s about the many not the individual with him and that he makes the hard choices others won’t.

Overall though this really was a great addition to the series and this one had plenty of heart-stopping suspense as well as the romance.

On a side note though this series contains some paranormal elements it does read as much more of a contemporary romance than your usual paranormal, not a criticism just an observation. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Geomancist (seven forbidden arts #5)

This is darker than the previous books. Filled with danger, lots of drama and high angst, I was in the perfect mood to dive into Sean and Asia’s story.

Asia’s character was a fun, spunky thing and I enjoyed her very much. However, once she becomes a pawn in a dark and dangerous game of power, her character is forced onto a different path. At that point, she fought to endure what was being thrust upon her as well as protect Sean and her brother. Her situation deals with a lot of triggering situations, mostly non-consent via the villain of this story.

Sean was quite unique as one of those who possess a forbidden art. Primarily because he has sworn off using it. When the time arises when he needs to utilize it, a whole new problem arises for him. He was extremely protective of Asia, and yet in a position where he could not protect her. Again, unique when it comes to alpha heroes.

When things began to wrap up, I felt that things between Asia and Sean could have been resolved much earlier and easier had the leader of their little group had shared a tiny bit of info with her. However, for those that love angst, the lack of that info leads this couple into some serious separation and emotional struggle. Overall, a great read if you like the darker stuff, and are okay with certain triggers.

Asia Sommers checks out an ad in the classifieds for a bar going up for sale. It will be perfect for the spa retreat she’s always envisioned.
Only, Sean Rivers, the Scottish recluse and mixologist, is not happy because he’s been wanting that bar for himself.

This is enemies to lovers romance with light PNR elements.

Sean is a Geomancist. He can control things like earthquakes, volcanos, and avalanches.
Well, he COULD. He lost his ability when he sister died in a tragic accident.
He swore to himself he’s never try to gain them back and has been in hiding from the paranormal task force.
He wants nothing to do the forbidden arts again.

Problem is, they find him. They need his help. They blackmail him into saying yes.

Sean and Asia both land on a private yacht owned by a drug lord who’s set to sail off to a private island for partying and fun. Asia is a massage therapist, Sean is hired for his alcohol mixing skills.
They both need the money for that bar.

Things quickly get intense when Juan, a crazed drug lord sees Asia and immediately takes an interest in her. He claims she’s a replica of his dead late wife and wants Asia to step in to become her. He’s off his rocker.
“This was an even bigger mess than what she imagined. This wasn’t about a man who wouldn’t take no for an answer. This was a dangerous criminal who saw a crazy similarity between her and a dead woman.”

Between Juan, his psycho coked out girlfriend, Asia and Sean become close but not without secrets and hardships.
Juan literally collars Asia with an electric collar to keep her on the island.
Sean has no choice but to reach out for help for a woman he barely knows but can’t help but want to get closer with.

Plot twists and angst.. I think this book is my favorite in the series. It was freaking fantastic and full of action. I couldn’t put it down.

Kindly provided with an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review........

MAGNIFICENT !!!! I have seriously no idea how Charmaine can put to print such a phenomenal story line !!

Lets get busy chatting about this beauty.........

This is Sean and Asia's story. Sean is living with ALOT of guilt over the death of his sister. He's opened a bar and is trying to honor his sisters dream. Asia to is trying to build a better life and help out her sibling. Asia has opened her own business. One thing both budding businesses have in common......both Sean and Asia have had to become involved with the local Mr Unsavory, a drug King called Juan. Their reason's are legitimate.....pitty Juan is not !!

Anyhow, Sean and Asia meet and yup.......a sparks becomes a BIG bang !!!. Unfortunately Sean is not the only one smitten by Asia......gah, Mr King Pin Juan has decided that Asia is going to be his next flavor of the day (or more apts flavor of the your not EVER going to get away !!!).

Asia is soooo not on board with Juan's offer. And Sean is obviously ever less thrilled that is lady is being unwillingly smoozed by this leech. Sean then is all in to help Asia out of Juan's generous *cough* love offer.........but just as Sean is about to nip this little romance in the bud.......his abilities that would be very much needed decided to take their own vacation.

You see peeps Sean is a Geomancist (he can create earthquakes) swoon now !!!!. Just what Juan needs to bury his lust for Asia.....except Sean is out of that skill !!!. Even so he is committed to helping Asia from a cruel fate.

Now the deeper stuff........honestly peeps Charmaine has an amazing capacity for creating this utterly awe inspiring world where every day people have these unbelievable abilities and are determined to protect, keeping the worlds evil as dampened down as possible. The plot, the twists.....spectacular. The character's.....spell binding. Just EVERYTHING in this series is addictive.

It can at times make your heart beats miss a couple of beats......some scene's are not for the faint hearted. Saying that it is NOT gruesome, just gripping. I cannot get enough, I literally devour these stories as fast as I can my favorite chocolates.....and that's committed and fast peeps !!!

I would HIGHLY recommend this series to ANYBODY who wants a story line with guts and high impact. Not forgetting the magical HEA that make my world right. This book is just one big ole double thumbs up.

Well done Charmaine and be very proud of this series.....its a "ground shaker " ;0)

Many thanks for this opportunity xx

Later peeps xx

description

"He didn't want anyone else to want to touch her, because he wanted to own those rights exclusively."

I haven't read any paranormal or romanctic suspense in a long time while it was two of my favorite genres a couple of years ago. Geomancist opened my eyes for the world I was missing. This book had the right amount of suspense, romance and a bit of paranormal thrown in to it.

This book is focusing on Asia and Sean who both want to own a pub and change it into a business of their choice. However both don't have the funds so they accept a job offer from a drug lord to work a week on a private Island where he will celebrate his birthday for a week. From the start they are attracted to each other but they also are competitors. I loved that Asia was a strong independent woman who was also pretty loyal and protective of her family. Sean was a bit of a loner after what happened in his past. Sean was bossy but Asia didn't let him tell her what to do.

The sex scenes were really hot. Charmaine turned up the heat pretty high! There was a lot of chemistry between Asia and Sean and I loved how protective he was of her. There was so much suspense in this book and it wasn't predictable. I also liked that the story wasn't over powered by a lot of paranormal events. In my opinion it had the right amount of paranormal in it. I loved the characters and I also got to meet the MCs of the previous books which I'll definite read.

Dread. I think that was my predominant feeling throughout most of this book.

Have you ever been so scared while watching a movie or TV show that you had to cover your eyes? That’s how I felt for large portions of this story.

Our hero, Sean Rivers, award-winning mixologist, and heroine, Asia Sommers, beautician and aspiring spa-owner, inadvertently get themselves entangled with a soulless sociopathic criminal overlord. Trapped on a private island with a number of other “VIP” guests who are there to help celebrate the drug kingpin’s fiftieth birthday, Sean and Asia are shocked to discover that she is the doppelgänger of the drug lord’s former love. Gross! Double gross!

I spent a lot of time doing the reader equivalent of “covering my eyes” which means I had to keep putting the book down. I felt very anxious the whole time. I was so anxious, I lost my reading libido and found myself chastising Sean and Asia “How can you two possibly be thinking about sex at a time like this!! Oh. My. God. You will die a slow death if he finds out!”

Don’t get me wrong. Sean and Asia are a sweet couple and there is a lot to like about them, including their loyalty to family and their bravery.
I found this to be the most exciting and suspenseful instalment so far, and especially enjoyed the displays of the Forbidden Arts in full force when Cain Jones’ team is called upon to flex its muscle!

Even though Geomancist wasn't my favorite 7 Forbidden Arts book, I still enjoyed Asia and Sean's story very much. Their relationship was part enemies to lovers and mostly revolved around finding love in the midst of an extremely dangerous situation. As always, Charmaine Pauls excels at writing the tense atmosphere in her stories and chemistry of her characters. Asia and Sean had a difficult relationship at first because of their rivalry but it developed into something so much more than they could ever realize. They were both seeking the same thing and would go through any lengths to achieve it. I loved this aspect of the book. Past characters from the series also made an appearance and I can honestly say that Cain's manipulative nature was off-putting because he forced both Asia and Sean's hands. I hope that he will be able to redeem himself later in the series.
"If you let me have you, I'm never going to let you go. If you stay, it's forever."

I thought the book did a fantastic job introducing its main characters, Sean and Asia. With each chapter, we learn more and more about their secrets, motivations, struggles, and attraction for one another. One hides a secret that cost him everything while the other is struggling to support and keep her family together. With this setup in mind, Cain's manipulation further intensifies their situation by putting both Sean and Asia in front of one of Godfrey's acquaintances, a drug lord by the name of Juan Hernandez who is immediately attracted by Asia and wants her. Sean, who is already intensely attracted to Asia, gets incredibly jealous and tries to do everything in his power to prevent that from happening. If you like your male leads possessive and over the top jealous when it comes to his woman, Sean Rivers has got it.
"Loving him was like a law of nature, a law that could never be broken."

In the end, I highly recommend this book and series to those who like paranormal romance and erotic romance. This book was incredibly spicy, if you know what I mean, and the heat factor is high when it comes to Sean and Asia's romance. Fans of Charmaine Paul will of course enjoy this series because it features many of the attributes we know and love from her writing and style. Sean Rivers was highly driven, intense, and moody whereas Asia was a spark of sunshine in his life. I loved how she was equally driven to provide for her family and her attraction to Sean, despite her hesitation, was also all-consuming for her. This made for a somewhat angsty romance between the two. If you like the enemies-to-lovers trope, you will absolutely love this book because it was intense, action-packed, highly erotic, and entertaining.

This is the fifth book in the Seven Forbidden Arts series. I loved it!

Asia Sommer is a wonderful character. I liked her a lot. She is determined to give her brother the opportunity to study in a prestigious art college in Cartagena and moves with her brother and grandmother from Copenhagen to do so. Unfortunately, she doesn't have enough money to set up her beauty salon, so accepts the offer of a job at a birthday party on a small island off the coast. However, she wasn't expecting to meet the intriguing Sean Rivers and feel the instant pull of attraction.

Sean Rivers is also a wonderful character. I really liked him a lot too. He is a Geomancist, someone who can affect the Earth with his supernatural power, creating earthquakes, volcanoes and other destructive natural forces like landslides. After a serious accident that rattled his confidence in his control over his power, he goes into hiding, and is now working in a bar in Cartagena as a mixologist. When a beautiful stranger appears with plans to turn the bar into a beauty salon, his peaceful life is turned upside down. But danger is not far away and when Sean discovers that Asia is in the sights of a dangerous drug lord, he will have to embrace his powers whilst fighting his intense attraction to her.

The story is told through the eyes of both Sean and Asia, which gives the reader the ability to see what they are thinking and feeling. I started to read the story and was quickly hooked. I found myself on a huge emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish. There are a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming and this kept me guessing as to what was going to happen next. I loved meeting the paranormal task force once more, though I was not happy with the manipulations of Cain Jones. Be that as it may, I was more disgusted with the drug kingpin, Juan Hernandez. He's a real piece of work, along with his wife, Jeanne. They both are cruel and have sadistic pleasure in causing pain, this made my skin crawl! There are some other characters that bring this story to life. I really felt sorry for Leona, Juan's event organizer, as the story unfolded.

The heat level between Sean and Asia is extremely hot, almost explosive, and scorched the pages. I also found some of the scenes incredibly sweet as they got to know each other. However, reader beware, there are some scenes of sexual punishment/torture involving Juan and Jeanne Hernandez that may upset some readers or cause potential flashbacks. Therefore, I would urge readers to use their discretion before reading this book.

On more than one occasion I found myself holding my breath as the danger had me sitting on the edge of my seat. There is a lot going on, with some really intense scenes between the characters and, as I don't want to give any spoilers, I will not say much more. I reached the end of the book with mixed feelings - sad that it was finished, but happy at the way it concluded. As I have already read Necromancist and loved it, I am now looking forward to reading the next book in the series as soon as I can.

Charmaine Pauls has written an entertaining standalone erotic romance. Her characters are lifelike and come alive on the page. I love her fast paced writing style and the flow is wonderful. I would definitely consider reading more of her books in the future.

Although this book can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend that you read this series in order. Due to the explicit nature of some of the scenes, as well as use of foul language, I do not recommend this book to readers under the age of 18. I do, however, recommend this book if you love science fiction, erotica, erotic romance or paranormal romance genres. – Lynn Worton

ARC offered by the author in exchance for honest reviewing

Geomancist is the fifth book in the Forbidden Arts series, and though I only read the first two installments beside, of course, this one, I can say I'm getting more and more excited upon starting to read them.

Miss Pauls has created an explosive mix with characters that truly shine in the fine weaves of the plot.

In Geomancist we see determined, broken Sean, trying to salvage his sister's dream of opening a cocktail bar and the feisty firecracker Asia, hellbent in providing her little brother a better future. With two characters so strong-willed and stubborn it's no surprise if the chemistry is out of the charts and magnetic.

Second case in point. Out of the books I've read in this series, Geomancist was hands down the hottest one. And when I say hot, I mean you-better-call-the-local-firefighters kind of hot. Some scenes were downright sinful and the whole atmosphere sweated hotness from its every pore.

The plot, however, was way more simple and straightforward than the previous ones. The action was less frequent, leaving more space to the characters interactions. Even though I loved seeing Sean and Asia together, sometimes I would have wanted a little more adrenaline and a little less serotonine, if you know what I mean. The kingpin's birthday party idea was a winning, original choice, putting both Asia and Sean in a very uncomfortable pair of shoes, having to tread carefully in such dangerous waters.

I really enjoyed the character's complexity. With this series you can't go wrong in that department. But there's something that bugged me a little. In the end, they lost their sparkle and the anti-climatic, drawned out last section was a bit of a downer, if compared to the explosive endings of the other two books in my knowledge.

Anyway, it was amazing to see the crew all together with their loved ones and get little snippets of what happens after the HEA following each novel in the series.

All in all, it was a wonderful read with very good characters, amazing chemistry and of course a style that never disappoints and seems to get better and better over time like a good-aged wine.
My only complain, as I already stated, was the final parts not living up to the rest of the book.
I woud, however, reccommend "Geomancist" to every paranormal, action, romance lover.

'Geomancist' puts the bar higher than any book before it. It's a story about forgiving yourself, finding love and kicking the bad guy ass. OK.. maybe is a bit more than that but let me tell you 'Geomancist' is a hot story that will burn your reader (or your hands).

The story takes place in Cartagena where Sean has been planning to buy a place to open a cocktail bar and fulfill his late sister's dream. Enters Asia, a beautiful Danish woman who wants to open a spa on the same place. Here begins a run for money that will drag both of them to a drug lord's island. Working for dangerous man will change their lives. Juan is the typical cartel guy, he takes notice of Asia in a special way. Long story short (without spoiling anything) their lives will be in danger as they work to uncovered a bigger threat.

Unlike the other book in the series, Sean doesn't work for Cain's team but of course, he makes an apparition and through his classical manipulation he makes and offer Sean cannot refuse. The other characters also appear on the book wich is great because I love to read what happened in their lives.

Sean is a Geomancist (he can manipulate the Earth) but his power is dormant so at first the paranormal element is no so present in the story. He is a sexy Scottish man, I have a thing for the Highlands so Sean is perfect for me. Asia is a strong and brave woman and some of the things she had to endure were too much but she never gave up. Juan is a sexual sadist... he is too evil and I couldn't have hated him more.

Sean and Asia are perfect together, their relationship is raw, primal and addictive. The sex scenes were off the chart, the fire was consuming and the trust they have each on other brings us scenes that are recorded in our brains forever. Sean is dominant in bed but still puts her pleasure first. I never read sex scenes with so much love and passion at the same time.

Anyway, I absolutely loved Geomancist. Charmaine is an incredible storyteller with a gift to create complex characters with sexy stories. I can't wait to read more about them.

Sean Rivers hates the fact that he harbors a power unlike any other. He can manipulate the earth, and use its resources to his advantage. Unfortunately, his power has done him more harm than good, since it caused his sister's unfortunate demise. His vow to never use his power ever again is soon shattered when he meets the beautiful Asia. She incites both his protective instincts and baser desires, prompting him to make unexpected decisions at every turn.

Another awesome addition to the Seven Forbidden Arts series, Geomancist takes us on a fast-paced ride that leaves us wanting more of Sean, Asia, and the rest of the forbidden arts team. Charmaine has filled this book with so much explosive action that you immerse yourself in the world she continues to weave around these wonderful characters.

In addition to meeting Sean and Asia, we're treated to glimpses of the pasts that bind each of the team's characters. It's a delight to see Lann, Joss, and the others build a camaraderie with these new characters. Granted, not everything is copacetic between all of them, but that's the best thing about getting to know a character. You're treated to those small snippets within their lives that make them all unique.

Charmaine has a created a unique, though turbulent, world that pulls the reader in from the moment we begin reading the book. We're shown what it's like for these characters to live with their forbidden arts, as well as what it's like for them to learn things as they go. Though there are two more forbidden arts that have yet to be unveiled, I've a feeling that they won't be the end for this wonderful world. Who knows? Perhaps we'll be treated to other character creations that live within this world the author is creating every step of the way. Definitely looking forward to what's coming next for this series.

This was a most extraordinary story to read and the first one I have read by this author. It was very well-written, intriguing, sensual, mystical and the story flowed effortless. Sean cannot forgive himself over his twin sister Maddy’s death and his nightmares haunt him. Sean thinks he has lost his art, and is unaware that Maddy transferred her powers over to him, when she gave her life to save his. Jerry is selling his Pub; Sean wants to turn it into a classy cocktail lounge, which was Maddy’s dream, whereas Asia wants to make it into a Spa. Cain is the Commander of a paranormal crime task force and is looking to obtain inside information on Godfrey, an associate of Juan - and the perfect cover is during Juan’s week-long celebration for his 50th birthday. Cain is manipulating both Asia and Sean, though they are not aware of this initially. Asia is offered a job as a masseuse, not realising that she resembles Juan’s dead wife and the consequences of what this means; Juan is not only obsessed with Asia, but also cruel and controlling, continually humiliating and degrading her. While on the Island Asia and Sean fall in love, but have to keep their feelings for each other secret; all Sean wants to do is protect Asia, but while she wants to love him, she cannot trust him. I really enjoying this book and even though it was quite long, it didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of a well put together story, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. Sean is an introvert and doesn’t let anything out but when Asia’s is in trouble all bets are off. Sean has a secret he is a geomancist and he can cause earthquakes, make volcanoes explode and he can even move mountains. Sean wants to own a bar. Asia moved to Columbia to get her brother into an exclusive art school. Asia wants to own the same bar Sean wants but she wants to make it a spa. Sean wants to own the bar as it was his twin sister’s dream and he has some guilt about his sisters death and she had passed away Asia wants the spa to have a better life and be able to
help her family. A drug lord Juan offers both Asia and Sean a job for a week on his private island .It was to celebrate Juan’s birthday. Juan wants Asia but she wants nothing to do with him. Sean powers aren’t working so he has to protect Asia without them.
I liked this story alot of action and suspense. I felt bad that Asia caught Juan’s attention. I liked the characters alot other than Juan of course. I did not realize there were other books and this was a series so will try to get them and read them to tie everything together. I loved the twists and turns of this story and I recommend.
I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

Aye, Sean....

First (and completely unimportant to this review) can I say a drooled a lot over Sean's accent in my head. Seriously hot!

Ok, sorry, had to. Now to the story, Sean is living for the one woman he lost. His other half...his twin sister. Darkness clouds his dreams and living her dream fills his days. As a Forbbiden Arts holder, he hides what his is and works as a mixologist. Which is totally hot by the way, I never would have thought about it, but it is.

He meets a spitfire trying to steal his dream and that's all she wrote. The End. No way the chemistry between these two would lead anywhere else...or would it?

Maybe they are meant to be, maybe not- but the ride is going to be wild!

I know this sounds dorky but I am totally "digging" this series (haha, digging- cuz he's a geomancist! sheesh, tough crowd). I love the fights, the sex, and the intriguing brain that is Cain. I hope we get his story one day! Sean and Asia make a wild pair that couldn't possibly go any other way.

Think crazy drug lords
Godfrey (that's a whole different level of crazy)
lost arts
trouble found
and family hanging in the balance

Yeah, I'd say give it a read.

Sean is our Geomancist, but he can't access his power any longer, following a traumatic event with his twin sister. He is desperate to own the bar he works in, so he can fulfil his dream. Then Asia walks into his life, and tells him that SHE wants the bar - to change it into a spa to fulfil HER dream! The race is on to see which will raise the money first, and be the owner of the bar/spa.

To do this they have to do something that neither of them wanted to - attend a week-long private party on a private island owned by a Columbian drug lord. Things don't go according to plan and the book takes a sinister twist. Parts of this story are incredibly 'uncomfortable' to read, as well as hot and spicy bits of the story.

It unfolds in a way that could only be written by Charmaine Pauls, she keeps you guessing and the story moving in ways that you just don't anticipate. Absolutely thrilling and heart-wrenching, this story is a fantastic addition to the Seven Forbidden Arts series. Highly recommended and I'm already looking forward to the next book!

Wow...where to begin? Geomancist by Charmaine Pauls has a little of everything...a suspenseful storyline, dynamic characters, sizzling chemistry, paranormal activity, and have I mentioned the steamy sex scenes yet! Damn, this book really should come with a warning that says...

☠ "Warning...Do Not Read When Children Are Present or At Family Gatherings!" ☠

Don't you just LOVE a sexy alpha man that once he meets the right woman, loves with all his heart and soul!?! Swoon

My only struggle with this book was towards the end when the plot shifted and the paranormal abilities became more of the books focal point. Even though this book can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone, I think part of the struggle I had with understanding the different forbidden arts as well as much of the terminology could have been reduced by reading the other practitioners stories beforehand.

With that said, if you love suspenseful erotic storylines that mixes in some paranormal twists, then this is a book I definitely recommend you check out! ❤️

Asia moves to Colombia to try to get her brother into an exclusive art program and open a spa.
Sean just wants to open his own bar, which was his twin sister's dream, after he feels responsible for her death.
They're both given an opportunity to buy the building where they each want their business. Neither one of them knows they're being manipulated into getting information to further Cain and his group's mission.
They both go to work for a drug lord at a party for his birthday on a private island. Terrible situations await Asia as she is singled out by the drug lord as his next love interest and Sean realizes that he has lost his Geomancist ability when he tries to help Asia.
This book is just as exciting and nerve wracking as the previous ones in the Seven Forbidden Arts series. You won't want to stop reading and will beg for the next installment! 5 stars!

I absolutely love this series, the story line is unique and extremely entertaining, the characters are refreshing and the author truly pulls you into her world. This book follows Sean, who after losing his sister decides to fulfill her life goals. however when those goals are jeopardized and threatened he decides to take a new job so he can continue with those goals. while on this new job he falls in love with someone that is forbidden. the story is very fast-paced and it's filled with action, sex, Romance, murder and mystery. I really enjoyed the ending of the book, I'm a fan of Happy Endings. The only thing I wished we had more about was his ability and talent. the book is based on these people that have supernatural abilities , but we're not given too many details of that in this installment. I look forward to the next book in the series.

This is an amazing series that keeps getting better with each book. The story line hooks you from the beginning until the very end. Sean is sure his forbidden art is gone and is doing everything in his power to make his sister's dream come true. Asia is struggling to keep a roof over her head and her families. When their paths cross it seems like life has been brought back to Sean. When Cain gets involved things change. This story has a lot of action and gives you more incite about the bigger picture of what is going on but at what price? A great book that all MUST read!

5* Spellbinding Stars

I am loving this 7 Forbidden Arts Series and was excited to read the fifth instalment which is Sean Rivers story. He is a Geomancist, and his power is to destroy through volcanoes and earthquakes.

Sean is a bit of an introvert minding his own business working as a mixologist in Cartagena, Colombia. His goal is to take over the existing lease and turn the business into a cocktail bar in memory of his twin sister as this was her dream. His world is turned upside down when he meets Asia who is also wanting to lease the premises and turn it into a spa. Unfortunately for both they do not have the means to do it immediately and end up accepting a week’s long job on a remote island catering to the needs of a drug lord who is celebrating his 50th birthday and his guests.

What transpires on this island is total madness and debauchery and before they know it their lives are in danger.

It was great catching up with the rest of the Task Force and see them in action.

This was by far the sexiest story in the series. Sean and Asia were sex on fire, and you felt their attraction and chemistry.

This was a very well written and thought-out story which had the perfect mix of suspense and paranormal activity. I highly recommend this exciting and sexy read, it is a great addition to the series.

I love the paranormal side of the story!

The action part where the forbidden art collide and involved in deathly epic fight!
I can just see the scenes play in big screen perfectly and I'm not even a PNR lover! For me, I need the author to put me in the perfect scenes to picture it in my head, and Charmaine do it amazing in this book.

While in the romance part, the attraction is fast. The chemistry build in their force closeness on the fact they have to stick together in the enemy ground.
But, yes, although the smeksi scenes are super hot, I need the chemistry to go deeper.

Sean is too close up, protecting his own heart and secrets. While Asia need other people word to realised what's more important than holding on to her own fear.

Overall, I always enjoy Ms. Pauls words. Geomancist is simply one of them.

Sean and Asia's story really kept me on the edge of my seat. This book is a true powder keg of tension, intensity, danger, emotion, suspense and heat that is enticingly delivered with an enticing fated mate, PNR twist. I've got to say that I've been enjoying this series. The writing is excellent, the stories complex and the characters intriguing. Add to that the clever paranormal elements and with each and every book I find myself pulled in and and completely consumed by the need read, read, read! LOL Honestly, I have to say that this couple has definitely become my favorite of the series. I loved the combination of feels and heart thumping excitement they gave me. This is my independent, impartial review.

This has been such a wonderful and original series so far, and this slightly darker installment is a perfect addition. The alternative world in which these characters exist is magical and skillfully described by the author.

Sean and Asia are the main protagonists, and the story is told from both their perspectives, allowing the reader to get to know their true personalities and intents. Sean and Asia have a conflict of interest, but when danger raises its head in the form of a drug lord, all differences are set aside. Sean is a complex character and Asia has to work hard to break down his walls.

As with all these stories, the attraction between the two main characters is magnetic and the passion that follows is molten. There’s plenty of pace and the plot is ingenious and kept me enthralled throughout …I received an advanced copy of this book from the author

What a story. I absolutely love this series. It has a different couple for each book that draws you in and has you glued to it. It is extremely well written and developed. It is a unique series that each book adds to the uniqueness of it. This one is of Sean and Asia. They have fabulous chemistry that is felt throughout the story. Their personalities are felt as well throughout the story. The descriptions are vivid and that just adds to it and gives it that extra element. Once started you won’t want to put it down. This story is packed full of drama and action. It has suspense that just keeps going. It is absolutely a must read.
