RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan College head coach Steve Masiello will be looking to lead the Jaspers to their second-straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship in 2014-2015.

2013-2014 Team Recap
* Masiello guided Manhattan to the program's first MAAC Championship in 10 years with a 71-68 win over Iona in Springfield, Mass.

* The Jaspers fell by a narrow 71-64 margin to Louisville in the Second Round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament in Orlando, Fla.

* Manhattan's 25 wins were tied for the second-most in school history and were also good for the's program 12th 20-win campaign, including the second in Masiello's three years.

* Masiello has now gone 60-39 in his three years at the helm of the Jaspers, with the 60 victories the second-most for a coach in his first three years in Riverdale (Fran Fraschilla-69 | 1992-1995)

* George Beamon averaged a team-leading 18.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game en route earning First Team All-MAAC honors and was cited as the MAAC Championships Most Outstanding Player. He finished his career fourth in school history with 1,843 points.

* Rhamel Brown earned his third-straight MAAC Defensive Player of the Year accolade as well as garnering a Second Team All-League nod.

* Brown ranked third in the nation with a MAAC-leading 3.6 blocks per game to go along with 10.1 points and 5.9 rebounds each time out. He finished his career with both the single-season (120) and career (367) records for rejections.

* Michael Alvarado, like Beamon and Brown, ended his career with All-MAAC recognition. A Third Team selection, he notched after notching 11.9 points and 4.0 assists per games.

* The three seniors accounted for 50.4 percent (1279-of-2540) of the scoring and 38.7 percent (477-of-1234) of the rebounding a year ago.

* Manhattan went 11-2 in the months of February and March and is now 19-5 over the last two seasons.

* The Jaspers were second in the NCAA with 16 road/neutral victories while posting five victories against the RPI Top-100.

* Manhattan collected its first win over a team from the SEC first over since the 2004 NCAA Tournament against Florida with an 86-68 victory against South Carolina.

* The Jaspers finished among the top-100 nationally in free throws (1019; 4th), blocks per game (6.1; 9th), free throws (676; 10th), steals per game (8.3; 14th), winning percentage (.758; 26th), scoring offense (77.0; 37th), scoring margin (6.9; 50th), FG % defense (.409; 50th), offensive rebounds per game (12.6; 52nd), three-point field-goal % (.369; 68th), rebounds (1234; 70th) three-point field goal defense (.327; 88th) and defensive rebounds per game (24.8; 93rd).

2014-2015 Team Preview
* Manhattan returns two starters and five other reserves that played at least 10 minutes a game.

* The Jaspers will be gunning for their second-straight MAAC Title and the fifth in school history.

* Leading the returners is senior Emmy Andujar, who averaged 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He also picked his game up at the right time, averaging 13.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the Jaspers' MAAC Championship run en route to garnering a spot on the All-Tournament team.

* Also standing out off the bench a year ago was junior Shane Richards, who averaged 8.3 points per game while knocking down a single-season school-record matching 77 three pointers.

* Rounding out the top returners are junior Ashton Pankey (7.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg) and senior RaShawn Stores (4.9 ppg, 2.0 rpg).

* Pankey notched a team-high 16 points with five rebounds against Louisville in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

* Manhattan also returns sophomore Rich Williams (4.4 ppg, 2.2 rpg), senior Donovan Kates (2.3 ppg, 1.5 rpg), sophomore Tyler Wilson (2.1 ppg, 1.1 rpg), sophomore Carlton Allen (0.3 ppg, 0.3 rpg) and classmate Trevor Glassmen.

* Joining the program for the Jaspers this season are Jermaine Lawrence, Samson Akilo, Calvin Crawford, Samson Usilo and Zane Waterman.

* Manhattan will once again play an arduous non-conference slate with road/neutral games at Florida State (ACC), Massachusetts (Atlantic 10), George Mason (Atlantic 10), Rutgers (Big 10), Pittsburgh (ACC) and Fordham (Atlantic 10).

* All told the Jaspers will play 13 games in 11 different venues to start the season, highlighted by trips to Madison Square Garden (Rutgers) and the Barclays Center (Fordham).

* For the second-straight season, Manhattan will play 20 MAAC games in a true round robin format.
