'Teen Mom OG' 's Amber Portwood Reveals She's Put Her Wedding on the 'Back Burner'

"I didn't know what the truth was," Portwood tells PEOPLE about the accusations against her fiancé

Amber Portwood may not be walking down the aisle on this season of Teen Mom OG after all.

On Tuesday, the reality star opened up to PEOPLE about her strained relationship with fiancé Matt Baier and whether there is still a wedding in their future.

“You see us take a back burner this season, honestly,” Portwood told PEOPLE exclusively. “There’s been so much talk about me and Matt the last season that we kind of stay a little private, but it’s hard to stay private when everything is out in the open.”

The mother of one has recently refrained from sharing any photos and or details about her current relationship with Baier on social media.

“[This season] you’ll see us talking about everything in the media and getting the truth out there, and we’re actually about to go to the Dr. Drew show to talk about online bullying,” she adds.

Portwood’s relationship took a huge blow after she found out about Baier’s past mistakes when reports surfaced alleging he wasn’t paying child support for several secret biological children with multiple women.

“Honestly, I tried to stay neutral in the whole situation because I didn’t know what was going on yet. I didn’t know what the truth was. I didn’t want to make a rash decision on something that everyone else was saying. You will see in this season me making my decision on what I was going to do with me and Matt,” she says.

When asked to discuss about the possibility of a fall wedding, Portwood, 26, admits that that too is on the “back burner.”

“Everything got thrown on the back burner when stuff happened,” she says, “but you’ll see us working through certain things together and you’ll see us talking about marriage and what we’re going to do.”

Portwood previously told PEOPLE in January that her wedding was scheduled for this Oct. 10, but now she says she’s hit pause because she’s “really picky.”

“I just think I am really picky when it comes to where I want to get married,” she said at the time. “Do I want it to be in Indiana or in Malibu? Because that is my dream wedding on the beach in Malibu.”

Teen Mom OG‘s two-hour, season 6 premiere airs Aug. 22 at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
