Shakira will perform at the World Cup's closing ceremony, it has been confirmed.

The singer will appear in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, July 13 alongside Carlos Santana and rapper Wyclef Jean. She will perform her World Cup anthem 'La La La (Brazil 2014)' with Brazilian star Carlinhos Brown.

Shakira, whose partner is Barcelona and Spain defender Gerard Piqué, said: "I'm thrilled to be performing my song 'La La La (Brazil 2014)' at the 2014 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony.

"I have an intricate relationship with football for obvious reasons, and I truly understand what the World Cup means to so many people - myself included."

Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull performed at the tournament's opening ceremony.

The 'On The Floor' singer originally pulled out of the ceremony due to unspecified "production issues", before going back on the decision days later.
