Oscar-winner Eddie, who announced the couple's pregnancy last month, is evidently overwhelmed with love for his stunning wife.

He said: 'She is an absolute wonder. Because the work I do is all encompassing, when I am prepping for it she is a massive part of that. It is so lovely to do it as a team.'

The London-born star revealed that Hannah gave up her work as a successful antiques dealer so she could join him as he travels the globe as one of Hollywood's most sought after actors.

He adds: 'Working for her old boss, it used to complicate things if we had to go to LA for the day; it is wonderful she can now travel all the time.'

Eddie was feted with the coveted Best Actor gong at last year's Oscars for his role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything and he is nominated for the same prize this year for The Danish Girl.

Despite his explosive success in recent years, Eddie is adamant he will take a break upon the arrival of the couple's first child in June.

He recently discussed impending parenthood with E! News, saying that he was shocked about how much preparation it takes ahead of the baby's arrival.

Talking about what surprised him most about gearing up for the bundle of joy, he said: 'Do you know what? Pretty much every element of it.

'We started looking at logistics of all the things we need before we get to the hospital - and it’s a long list.'

The public-school educated heartthrob previously revealed the adorable story of how he met his beautiful wife.

He said: 'It was an embarrassing evening. Hannah was at a girls’ school near Eton and they invited some of our guys over to do a fashion show for charity.

‘I had to walk across the stage topless — I was this pasty, freckly guy and when I came on the girls in the audience didn’t take much notice of me, but I was followed by the best-looking boy in the school and all the girls erupted in cheers, which was emotionally scarring!

‘I saw Hannah across the room at a party afterwards and she was very beautiful and very funny and she loves the arts and theatre just as I do, so we became friends.’

The couple's relationship moved from friendship to love while Eddie was filming 2012 musical Les Miserables: 'I’d finished rehearsals and was about to start shooting in a few days and so I said to myself, “I’m going to go to Florence for a quick break and write or do something like that.”

‘Before I went, Hannah and I were on a sort of date — we’d been good friends for 12 years — and we had a wonderful evening and I suddenly said, “You don’t want to come to Florence with me next week, do you?” She said, “That’s absurd, you don’t mean it.” I said, “Yes I do!” So our first proper date was in Florence. That was three years ago and we couldn’t be happier.
