It’s good to be the only son of one of the most powerful Republican politicians in New York.

Adam Skelos, the 32-year-old scion of state Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, appears to have benefited from his dad’s position with a series of jobs at GOP-wired entities, according to campaign finance and payroll documents and public information provided by firms that employed him.

Father and son live just 6 blocks from each other in Rockville Centre, L.I.

After graduating from Southside High School — his father’s alma mater — Adam Skelos attended Hofstra University, which his father had showered with millions in state grants.

The son graduated in December 2007. Five months later his dad announced a $25 million state grant for the school’s new College of Medicine.

While Adam was at Hofstra, he landed a $12-an-hour job at the lobbyist law firm then called Davidoff Malito & Hutcher. Sid Davidoff said Thursday that his former partner, Robert Malito, was a longtime pal of Dean Skelos.

Adam Skelos also snagged an internship with GOP Gov. George Pataki’s Nassau County office, and landed another internship at the Long Island Power Authority. His father appoints two of LIPA’s eight trustees.

Out of college, Adam Skelos jumped to Liberty Title Insurance, a firm that had donated $10,500 to his father.

Unfortunately for Adam Skelos, a few months later Liberty’s president, Brian Madden, was busted for embezzling $2.2 million from clients’ escrow accounts. Madden pleaded guilty and got 20 months in prison.

Adam Skelos briefly went on the payroll of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s campaign, making $2,880 for two months’ work. He then jumped to Chicago Title Insurance, then to Long Island-based East Coast Abstract.

That company has steadily contributed to GOP causes, raising $54,000 since 2002 almost exclusively for Republicans, including Dean Skelos and his brother, Supreme Court Justice Peter Skelos.

Skelos didn’t return calls seeking comment, nor did Adam Skelos’ lawyer, Christopher Conniff.
