Historic England Research Records

Monument Number 422737

Hob Uid: 422737
Location :
Cornwall
St. Buryan
Grid Ref : SW4105027560
Summary : The remains of a barrow are alleged at this location but it is thought that a natural outrop of rock has been minsiterpreted.
More information : A possible mound against what appears to be a natural
carn, named Creeg Tol (named at SW 41052756 on OS 6" 1968), is
listed under Barrows. (1)

The area around the natural granite outcrop known as Creeg Tol is
under gorse and bracken vegetation. A pronounced rise in the ground
adjacent to the outcrop at approximately SW41052757 could be the
remains of a barrow but positive identification, given the
prevailing conditions, was not possible. (2)
