Wed.-Fri.- This first week of class we will be going over all of the procedures for our return to school. The students will also be given an overview of the class. Social Studies in 8th grade begins with the establishment of the 13 colonies and ends with Reconstruction. The students will have no out of class assignments this first week.

Tues.- Begin discussing colonization- Ice Age, Native American settlement. Complete Atlas Activity in class.

Wed.- Discuss Spanish Armada and England's defeat of the Armada. Assign Spanish Armada reading comprehension and questions.

Thurs.- Discuss lost colony of Roanoke and Jamestown. Assign Jamestown timeline.

Fri.- Finish discussing 3/1- Jamestown and the importance of tobacco in the settlement of Virginia.

Wed.- Reviewing for tomorrow's Ch. 3 Test. The students have 3 study sheets to use to study for the test.
