Intel 2D GLAMOR vs. UXA vs. SNA On Ubuntu 14.04
More of SNA stomping over UXA and GLAMOR...
It will be interesting to see how GLAMOR performs with the new code within the X.Org Server once Eric Anholt, Keith Packard, and others are finished with their optimizations to the code. X.Org Server 1.16 will be released this summer.
As expected, Intel Linux users are best off now with using SNA for 2D acceleration on the X.Org Server. These 2D micro-benchmarks show GLAMOR generally being the worst for Intel 2D performance. The 2D performance situation is similar to what we've seen on the Radeon side too with poor GLAMOR performance using the current stable code where for newer Radeon HD/Rx graphics processors there is only GLAMOR and no EXA 2D acceleration as with the older AMD/ATI GPUs.
