NEW DELHI: Deputy CM Manish Sisodia hit out at the police, saying they remained “mute spectators” even as CM Arvind Kejriwal was heckled by BJP members at the New Delhi railway station on Thursday morning. Sisodia wondered whether the Delhi Police and BJP were planning to “attack” Kejriwal on PM Narendra Modi’s instructions.
Modiji ke ishare par Delhi Police aur BJP milkar @ArvindKejriwal par hamle ki sajish rach rahi hai? Kya aaj subah ki ghatna uska rehearsal thi?(Delhi Police and BJP are conspiring to attack Kejriwal on Modiji’s instructions? Was the morning episode a rehearsal for it,” tweeted Sisodia.

On Thursday morning, women BJP members gheraoed Kejriwal at the railway station before his departure to Ludhiana. They shouted slogans and offered bangles to the CM as a mark of protest against the “misconduct” of AAP members.
In a series of tweets, Sisodia questioned the arrangements made by police for Kejriwal’s security. “What was the reason behind such incident despite Chief Minister Office (CMO) and Chief Secretary alerting senior officers of Delhi Police from last evening (about possibility of such incident),” another tweet said.
Senior police officers said that two PSOs had accompanied the chief minister and ensured his safety while boarding a train to Punjab. “There was usual jostling due to the protests, which was controlled by GRP and RPF personnel. The CM’s security was not compromised,” said a police officer.
Delhi BJP women’s wing president Kamaljeet Sehrawat, along with media convener, Praveen Kapoor led a group of party workers to the station. “We have been trying to meet the CM for the past few days to discuss the misconduct of his MLAs and the derogatory blog by AAP spokesperson Ashutosh. Kejriwal is silent on all these matters. We tried to give him bangles as he is unable to run the city. He should sit at home if he can’t protect the honour of women,” said Sehrawat.
Describing it a “deliberate breach of security”, AAP wondered how BJP workers reached near the CM. “At a time when Kejriwal and AAP are constantly taking on powerful vested interests in the country, this is a very serious and shocking breach of security of an elected public official,” the party said in a press release.
