Introduction to SPSS
This hands-on workshop is for students who are new to SPSS. Through hands-on exercises, students will become familiar with the SPSS interface and its basic functions of managing data, doing statistical analysis and generating graphs. Students will also learn to use syntax file to generate and save analyzing procedures. Instructor: Minglu Wang, Data Services Librarian
Introduction to Stata
This hands-on workshop is for students who are new to Stata. Through hands-on exercises, students will become familiar with Stata interface and its basic functions of managing data, doing statistical analysis and generating graphs. Introduction to Qualtrics
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use Qualtrics to create and distribute survey, create survey report and cross-tabulation after data collection, download survey data or share survey results. Instructor: Minglu Wang, Data Services Librarian.
Introduction to Google Forms
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use Google Forms to create surveys, collect RSVPs, or replace any other paper forms you currently use. Although GoogleForms is free to use, you must have a Gmail account. Instructor: Bonnie Fong, Physical Sciences Librarian.
Mapping Census Data
This hands-on workshop will teach students how to download Census data from American FactFinder and map the data using ArcGIS. Students will also learn to use PolicyMap and Social Explorer to extract data and create maps online. Instructor: Minglu Wang, Data Services Librarian.
Digital Humanities
Map It! Making Interactive Maps for Digital Humanities and Social Sciences
This hands-on workshop will teach students how to create an online, interactive map using SIMILE Exhibit and a Google Map API. Students will get their feet wet with html and a bit of javascript. Come to class with a set of related locations you would like to put on a map and get your code on. Instructor: Krista White, Digital Humanities Librarian.
OMEKA
Learn to use the free, online OMEKA exhibit software to showcase collections of digital images, documents, audio or short movies. You will learn to use OMEKA.net, the free, hosted version of the software and begin creating a small exhibit right away to share online. Great for digital history, oral history and civic engagement projects. Instructor: Krista White, Digital Humanities Librarian.

This workshop will introduce you to Mendeley, a citation management tool, which help you organize and annotate your research literature, create and format your citation and bibliography according to your chosen style. Scopus is an online resource new to Rutgers.  It is similar to Web of Science in its functionality and purpose, although it features a different knowledgebase. Instructor: Vendor.
