Facebook's Messenger iPhone app lets you chat with friends, but according to a new report from iPhoneItalia, the app will soon support video chat as well.
The screenshot (pictured right) is supposedly from an early version of Facebook's video chat interface.
It looks like a fake to us.
Still, the real meat of the report is not the screenshot, but rather that iPhoneItalia's source has been reliable once before about Facebook's Messenger app.
Video chat is a feature Google+'s Android app has been able to brag about since it launched, while the Google+ iPhone app is not capable of video chat.
Facebook's desktop version has supported video chat since it sealed a partnership with Skype in July of this year. We'd expect the video chat integration with Messenger to work on top of the same technology, and hopefully over 3G as well (unlike Apple's FaceTime standard).
