    Have you used materia yet? 50 million types with different kinds for different slots and different catalysts...hard to track, takes forever to buy and and properly update 1 piece of gear. Seems overkill.

    With 1.19 patch the changes made to new individual damage calculation and changes to monster parameters for battle modifications. This made the leve's hard to complete where leve quest mobs with multiple mob pops or leve quests which has active monsters not related to leve quest.
    Along with the ones we already received feedbacks on we will be making overall balancing adjustments in 1.20 patch.

    Materia is fine, it tells you what the stats on it are, what catalyst you need, and what crafter you need. You really don't have to worry about being picky until you're working on your endgame gear. Catalyst-hunting is the only negative thing about it. There's no in-game way to know where certain catalysts are and Fingerprints of the Gods is really freaking random. It needs to activate more for lower tier catalysts so the price on the low rank catalysts will drop and newbies can get into it.

    Yep I have but it's only been a week still, once the market goes around and people start getting used to the system I'm sure it will get better + I'm sure with player feedbacks some stuff on the materia craft will be modified.

    As for me I tried all 3 parts in this one so I know.
    1. It takes time to materialize (100% spirit bond) a gear just by crafting/gathering - I see fighting speeds this up reading the forums.
    2. It's s*** pain in the butt to farm the catalist, 4 hours and 2 catalist isn't fun for me, tested 2 days and obtained only 6 so far for level 30+ one. God's Fingerprint hardly activated... and even after it activates it's not 100% guarantee, have to go through same gathering process with the purple glowing lights....
    3. Attaching materia is bit confusing since it has parts you can attach to; have to look at the the catalyst; on top of that have to have the right craft + crafting level to attach it.

    I tried it so I know it's hard right now but I would give it some more time + keep on posting my comments to see if the devs/reps can make some modification to this since I think this materia system is interesting.

    Perfectly fine. If you guve a lot of combinations it's going to get complicated versus giving everyone an auto win button like many MMOs.

    テストサーバについては、新体制後のインタビューでもお話ししたのですが、

    Regarding the test server; I have mentioned in the interview after forming the new team. I wanted to make this as fast as possible (even right now I think strongly about this)

    ですが、いざトライしようと開発環境のヒヤリングの際に、大きな問題が発覚し、
    どうしてもその対応には大部分の開発速度を一時低下させ、サーバの対応も含めて、
    大規模な開発運用体制の変更が必要だと判明しました。
    However when we actually tried this in development environments hearing there was a major problem and this slows down the development speed for large section and along with working the server, we noticed there needs to be a large-scale change to the development structure.

    そのため、現在行っているサーバ改修に合わせてテストサーバも実装予定で、
    FFXIV側のテストサーバが遅れているのは、それが理由になります。
    For that reason, along with server modifications we are currently making we are also planning releasing the test server, and reason behind the cause of delay on the FFXIV side of test server.

    引き続きやる気満々ではあるのですが、ゲーム本体の改修を待てない以上、
    まずは改修を優先し、その後に環境を入れ替え、バージョンブランチの仕組みを設計し直し、
    (設計は終わりました)テストサーバに対応するつもりでいます。
    I still want to make this possible, but since we can't wait on actual game repair we will first work on the repairs then after structure swap would like to structure a system to allow version branching (structure is finished) and make it possible in the test server.

    Speak for yourself. The chocobo caravan gives quite a nice reward if you keep the chocobos safe enough, and I try to do at least one every day.

    And as for ignoring materia completely...well, good luck with that, buddy. It's become an integral part of the game, and all future content will be balanced around it.

    Anywho, sorry for derailing a bit. Thanks for the translations as always, Reinheart! You're the best.

    PLは本当に個々人によって単語の捉え方も違いますし、
    先行するプレイヤーと、後発のプレイヤーの距離感を縮めるために、

    There are different feelings towards PL depending on the players view on it but the goal where having new players come closer to older players have not changed.
    I believe this is because it's volunteer for the side doing the the PL by spending his/her time helping his friend or family member and doing for good will.


    ただ、その範囲は今回の占有改修によって発生することを想定しており、
    極端なレベル差がある状態で、PLされる側のキャラクタをPT内に入れたまま放置し、
    レベル差分の経験値の減衰が効力を発揮していないことが想定外でした。
    We did have an idea about this after after the modification to the claiming system but didn't expect where the person getting PL can be in the party and do nothing and gaining exp without the penalty where it calculates the level difference between the players.

    経験値獲得の計算式は、今回のパッチ1.19で根幹のテコ入れが入ったため、
    表面上の効力が分かり難くなっており、今回の対応の遅れに繋がっています。
    緊急メンテナンスも視野には入れていましたが、パッチ1.19aのリリースが
    目前に迫っているため、本件も同時に対応させて頂きます。
    There was root changes to the exp gain calculation formula in 1.19 and made it difficult to understand and also reason for the delay.
    We thought of having a emergency maintenance but patch 1.19a release is close by so we will have this included in it as well.


    混乱について重ねてお詫び致します。
