This is one of the better resources for IT professionals. There is no scam here. It's like many products these days. They offer enough for free to show you what you will get when you subscribe. My company has paid for all of our techs to access the site, and I can honestly say that the answers I've found here have been accurate and timely. The only website I find to be better is Spiceworks. Between the two sites, I can get any IT questions answered. ExpertsExchange deserves to have its rating corrected.

Site is bait-and-switch, and sites like stack-overflow provide much better answers for free. Stay away from this site.

Come on, we're talking about Experts-Exchange for crying out loud! False positives like this will lead to 'disappointed WOT-users', to put it mildly.

A very helpful website for IT professionals. This isn't a dangerous site, and I agree with the other IT reviewers the rating needs to be changed. I created a WOT account just so I could add my vote for this site. Our company has used the resources on this site for years.

I get top expert advice within an hour or two. It is utterly stupid to ban this site. Better ban WOT for such poor advice! Actually, I am now cancelling my WOT subscription on this basis! I want to pay for good advice, and certainly not pay for WOT's misleading warnings.

This site might charge you for too much money.

Expert Exchange is a great site for getting help with any kind of issue you might have in the IT field. Please change the rating on the site to safe. Thank you.

i think this is a good website

I used to use this website a lot but after I stoped using them they kept billing. Year after year they kept taking money, even though I cancelled each time.

Site is trustworthy, but ratings are being subverted because some can't read that some parts require a membership, and because Google rightly indexes an answer they want 'right now'. So in a fit of bile, they rate it as a 1 without any further ado. It isn't a bait and switch site, people are just showing their ignorance. All of those pissy reviews should be struck out as irrelevant to the ratings.

So....please change the name of this extension to 'If its not completely FREE it must be dangerous'. ***** for child safety...? This is a tech support website...if you are making recommendations for people that you are asking to trust you, you need to do so responsibly. Does this extension have a mod/dev team??? Have you noticed that virtually every single score from a user is a 5 and every score from a free content-troll is a 1??? Can I also give Experts-Exchange a one for NOT delivering pizza?? This extension is not only pointless, but its exploitative. Credibility is a two-way street. Not safe for kids---hahahahahahahahahahahaha --whose running this thing??

I used to go to Experts Exchange quite a lot back in the 00's. I found it very useful. However, after they put up their paywall I stopped using the site. I can imagine that the paywall gives them financial resources to curate the answers more thoroughly than most are. I did feel that they were not much better than average when I tried the trial membership several years ago. But this is not a scam, it's a homegrown business. There

This has always been a pay to view site. If you want the answer bad enough, you will pay for it. Do not just knock it because you want something for nothing.

Experts Exchange is a great site. You can get full access by either paying for the service or by answering questions. People complaining on here are people that are wanting the content for free. Well a lot of daily newspapers have their content behind a paywall and you can only see part of an article. Experts Exchange is the same. You can see all of the conversation but you have to subscribe (or contribute content) to see the actual confirmed answer. You can see enough of the conversation to know if the answer will be helpful though. Just because you don't like their business model, doesn't make it a scam. I have been using this service for over 20 years and think it is brilliant.

The site legitimately has information, but it's a bait-and-switch in that when you get to the answer, it's hidden behind a paywall. Somehow they expose it enough that Google thinks it's there, but in reality it isn't

I could not find anything harmful or dangerous on the site

One of the most useful technical information resources on the internet. People who provide answers here generally know what they are talking about, unlike most forums. This is certainly not any kind of scam site.

Once upon a time, this was all completely free--as best I can remember. Now, it seems that you have to pay to ask a question, but I haven't needed to login to view the conversations. I've been coming here for over a decade, and I've never seen anything that would justify it being called scam. Other resources professional trust rating resources that I have access to rate this site as very safe. Whether the service is worth the money or not is something you'll have to decide for yourself.
