Pink & Black Attack

OK, so you know how I was excited to start this show after Sunday's meet-and-greet? Well, yesterday's read through just infinitely increased that! This show is gonna be amazing. The script is great, the cast is great, my PART is great... le sigh... Super-excited!

I have the night off tonight (laundry time here I COME), but pretty steadily have rehearsal everyday after that until I leave for Walla Walla (1 week!!!!!!!!!!!), so I am really looking forward to jumping into this world! It's also fun to be in a show where I don't know anyone. It's been a while since I've been in a show with a new company and no one I've really worked with before. It's like everyone looks familiar (seen them at auditions or callbacks or in a show), but I've never actually been onstage with any of them (until now). It's always fun to meet new people, make new friends and expand the network...

And yes, the countdown to vacation HAS begun (8 days until we leave, 5 work days). I am super excited to get out of town and get some much-needed family time. And relaxing time. And wine-tasting time... Hopefully the weather will heat up over there (it's only supposed to be about mid-70s now...boo, I want HEAT), but even if it doesn't I'm just excited for a little break. And then a spa-day with the mama & seestor the following Mon... Should be loverly.

It is officially rainy and nasty today, but of course, I chose to ignore both the weather forecast and the fact that I could hear the rain from inside my apartment, and I am wearing my Jessica Simpson pink plaid stub-toe flats from Nordys (yup, my feet are STILL wet...) with my black jolt pants also from Nordys, my American Eagle pink tee, H&M black sequined bolero, silver Express cuff, giant black cocktail ring, long black beaded necklace and pink heart Marilyn Monroe earrings.

Autumnal

Today is turning out MUCH nicer than it was supposed to, so I am completely overdressed (also have my H&M "leather" coat, gifted scarf & F21 white knit hat that I pretty quickly shed on my walk to work). Kinda regretting the boots decision too... But I guess that's what I get when I had to do laundry as badly as I need to right now. Pretty sure that I haven't done any since... well, let's just say you can find it in my blog if you REALLY wanna know (yes, I have a lot of clothes and YES, I go a really long time between laundry days, thanks).

I feel like since I missed my Saturday on here that I never really habla'd about my INSANE Fri nite... starting with GreenStage girlie food/drinks at Citizen (yum, crepes!) and then migrating to Oddfellows on the Hill pre-Dr Horrible (found out stupid Brown Paper said I bought tickets for SUN nite, not FRI nite, but luckily I was able to squeeze in in the back with Kate--thank GOD!). And I LOVED IT! That show was SO well-executed! So much fun, seriously. The cast seemed to be having so much fun up there and it was packed. The audience loving it. And they even extended the run! Plus, all the songs have been stuck in my head ever since. I'm pretty sure that I have woken up singing one of them every morning since... It was really great. Totes enjoyed it!

Post-Horrible, I went out with Dani and a lot of the Spelling Bee cast to Rosebud, via Tribunali (cheap late nite pizza!) and then rounding out the evening (morning?) at R Place for le dancing! It was epic. I honestly had no idea that it would be so crazy either... but it was def fun! I'm up for more nights like that so long as I have nothing to do the next day!

Loved meeting (nearly) everyone involved in the fall Annex shows last night. Seriously, after hearing my director talk about the show I was ready to jump in right then and there! It's going to be really good. And really fun. And I am loving that the playwright, Rachel, is going to be coming to a lot of the rehearsals. That is SO important when you are working on a new script and she will be a fantastic resource in the rehearsal room. We have our first read through tonight! Everything's gearing up...

Today, I am wearing my dark denim bdg skinnies from UO, grey Pitaya tee, black v-neck Express cardigan and brown Blowfish boots from DSW.

PS there is another kitteh butt sighting... (just for you seestor!) I didn't even realize he was walking by...

Starting Anew

Starting the brand new show today! We have our first meet-and-greet in a few hours and then a read through tomorrow! Super excited to jump back into it. Yesterday was absolutely loverly. I did nothing. I didn't even change out of my pajamas. As the last day before I start a new show, the doing nothing was amazing!

Kinda bummed that I have to wander to Columbia City tonight for the meet-and-greet though... That's hard to get to... and far away... Hopefully, I can get a little ride home and not have to take el autobus home. From Columbia City. At night. On a Sunday (YUCK!)

So, today I am wearing my grey Levi skinnies, blue rubbish tee and Sperry Top-Siders both from Nordys.

Fall/Winter Campaigns

So much love for Louis Vuitton's 50's-style woman with gloves, sweaters, cleavage and great floral patterns

Sheer 20's-style frocks with waiders in Prada

Patterns, leather, 50's-style silouettes and under-cleavage(?!) also in Prada

Sleek & monochromatic in Chloe

Big hat & cape in YSL

Monochromatic attempts at cleavage and strong shoulders in Miu Miu

So Long, Summer!

Misty. It's misty outside. Not quite rain, but not just overcast. Summer has (VERY briefly) come and gone. So long, summer! You will be missed...

Yesterday was loverly. I was able to check a few things off my to-do list: mani/pedi (in a new Candy-like color), massage (yeah, gonna try to get a few more of those, I'm definitely still holding onto some crap from the accident...) and celebratory (expensive!) dinner with the seestor & mama! SO GOOD! Days like yesterday make me wish I had more time off of rehearsal. Plus (and now that I've said it I won't have it anymore), I have had AMAZING bus karma the last few days! Thank you, transportation gods, you make everything easier! I will sacrifice a fan belt or fuel rod to you in the coming days for all of this good luck...

Today I am meeting up with my GreenStage girls for a drink after work at Crow (yay! finally!) and then heading up to the Hill to meet Dani and a lot of the Spelling Bee cast to go see Dr Horrible at Balagan! Super excited to see it! I've heard really good things and am pretty sure that they are all sold out(!) for the rest of their run... So glad I bought tickets when I did!

I am wearing my black floral patterned in love by 2AM tee from UO, black jolt pants & mustard Halogen sweater both from Nordys with my brown MIA boots from the Rack. I'm also rocking my giant gold medallion earrings and long black beaded necklace.

This weekend should be relatively relaxed before I start rehearsals on Sun! I have no plans on Sat... I just want to relish in that statement for a while: I. Have. No. Plans. WOW! That never happens... GLORIOUS! Sunday I think mama and I are gonna hit up the M's game and then I have the Annex meet-and-greet (YAY) at a board member's house in Columbia City (BOO)... meh... Oh wells... After Sunday, everything will be inside. At the same place. At the same time. On the Hill.

Quintessentially Seattle

As my co-worker says today I look "totally Seattle, I work in an office and am cute" chic. I really heart today's outfit a lot and kinda feel a little 50's cum 80's in it (Grease-like, as it were)! Just kinda grabbed something that I thought would work for my hectic dayof work, mani/pedi, massage and then dinner with the mama & seestor (OK, well when I put it that way it really doesn't SEEM hectic, but trust me there will be a lot of running around...).

Last night's experiment of yoga and then running to a play worked out better than expected and I got there with plenty of time. And Yankee Tavern was definitely worth the (semi-)rush. The show was as conspiratorial as expected and just as mysterious, too. The cast was really great, all around, but Charles Legget as Ray, the conspiracy theorist constantly conspiritorializing (made THAT word up) to everyone around him, totally stole the show. Selfish, self-aggrandizing and totally caught up in the relatively insane world of his mind. It was a ridiculously strong performance.

There was this great moment early on where Ray is wandering around the tavern talking on his phone on-air on a radio talkshow and as he walks by the lone female character, Janet, he steals the newspaper from her and walks into the bathroom still arguing without even realizing she might have been using it. Talk about quickly establishing character. Toward the end of the show I got a little bit "Uh oh, please don't make this all sappy", but Dietz refrained and the end totally redeemed itself. Catch it's last weekend, if you can!

Today, I am wearing my bdg dark denim skinnies from UO, grey striped Bebe shirt and vintage Nine West grey heels with rabbit fur patch on the bow in front. I also grabbed my Express silver cuff and my grey Fossil boyfriend sweater (it's cold now, so...).

Seriously, LOVE these shoes. They're one of those things that I own and LOVE and never wear enough. They feel like they were made for my feet and they fit me perfectly. The heel is only about 2" too, so they are totally comfy and walkable (although I wore my flip-flops for the walk since I needed them for my pedi anyways...). I always put them on and think "why don't I wear these more often?". Seriously, comfy & cute & chic & vintage? They are rocking! LOVES!

The September Issue (of W Magazine)

There is nothing so glorious as a September Issue: the weight, the heft, the hundreds upon hundreds of ad pages, the glimpse into the next big thing... le sigh. Late August is made better because of these issues in my mailbox. I received the September Issue of my W Magazine last Fri night after coming home from Man of La Mancha and I quickly devoured it, pouring over the pages and dog-earring the fashion styles that jump out at me.

The biggest new trend, for me anyway, has to do with the article "My Cup Runneth Over" concerning the resurgence of busty women in fashion and curvy figure-flattering styles on the runway. The whole look seems to come from the styles of the early 60's and the idea that hips and a bust are good things: gloves, capes, cleavage, small wiasts, fuller skirts, boatnecks, inspiration from Brigitte Bardot, Gina Lolobrigida and Raquel Welch. They include Madonna's Dolce & Gabbana campaign and most notably, Marc Jacobs for Louis Viutton--and sidenote, SO AMUSED by these skinny-ass model's attempts at cleavage! Mine put them to shame. SHAME!

So here are the fashions that I hearted from The September Issue of W (Vogue to come):

Marc Jacobs wool coat & Yves Saint Laurent green silk blouse
Oscar de la Renta alpaca coat with fox fur trim & silk faille skirt with Chanel gloves
Chloe's wool and cashmere blouse and pants with velvet tie
Balmain sequined cotton dress and Yves Saint Laurent shoes
Valentino's silk organza dress
Ad pages are harder to come by and harder to find good pictures, but I assure you, if I find any from fall/winter collections I like they will be posted, as well!

It's the End of the World As We Know It (and I Feel Fine)

Plans changed last night...again. Mama ended up having to work late, so we are back on for dinner on Thurs! And I decided against rushing home at lunch to grab the yoga clothes and just enjoying another relaxing night (worth it!). Therefore, today I am rushing to yoga from work and then rushing from there to Yankee Tavern at ACT. Excited to see the new Dietz all about conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11... should be good times. Loved his last show, Becky's New Car (also at ACT), and generally just love him so I am def excited to check out this show.

Today is supposed to be the last nice summer day above 80 for the year and I am taking FULL advantage of it in my F21 grey ballet skirt with buttons on the sides, gifted purple lace racer-back tank from UO and black Pour la Victoire gladiator sandals from Loehmanns in NYC. I am also wearing my mirrored black & white earrings, long black beaded necklace and silver & black beaded bracelet.

Also, I meant to mention after my summer reading post that you all can please ask me about any of the books OR borrow them! Again, the only one I would NOT rec is Bright Lights, Big Ass. Unless, of course, you enjoy conservative bitchy fat-girl complaining and generally all around rude person in a "true memoir" style (retch).

At Long Last

Well... change of plans for tonight. The seestor and I are now gonna take my mama out for a celebratory dinner after work today instead of on Thurs (so no yoga, but I think I will try to make that up pre-Yankee Tavern tomorrow). It will be fun! And at this awesome latin bistro in Madrona! Should be yummy and super-celebratory. Excited for foodzies!

Since the seestor isn't off work until 7, I think I might wander over to the Seattle Center area to see if I can find a nail salon to do a mani/pedi while I wait for her to get off work... making it slowly but surely through my to do list... only 5 more days to get it all done before I start my new show and all extra-time goes out the window...

Last night was gloriously lazy. The most active thing I did was make dinner and then brownies (both turned out loverly), but alas, no laundry... meh... someday I will get to that... Also, watched the latest True Blood and come ON! I need people to be caught up with it so that I can dish with them (and also to have read the books so I don't reveal too much...)! Do it, peoples!

Today, since we are going to a nice schmancy restaurant I am wearing my black BCBG maxazaria paperbag waisted bubble skirt from Nordys with my kimchi blue teal ruffled top from UO, thrifted black 3/4 sleeve cardigan and gold Zara sandals. I am also wearing my teal drop earrings.

Summer Reading List

Way back in May (the last time I had a two-week break between shows), I went out and bought a number of books from Elliot Bay Bookstore and I have almost finished all of them! They are all listed below with a few extras thrown in (a memoir given to me by my seestor as an Xmas gift that I finally got around to finishing, which is the only one on this list I would NOT recommend, as well as a re-read of an AMAZING acting book that I first devoured last summer). Mostly I am proud of my prolific reading skillz (yes, with a 'z', thank you!)...

Dead in the Family (the latest Sookie Stackhouse book)
Boneshaker
The Yiddish Policeman's Union
Bright Lights, Big Ass
Year of the King
Everything is Illuminated
As You Like It (and memorizing lines)

And the lone hold out: How to Be Good

Total Eclipse

Smack dab in the middle of a boring Monday thinking about how I really only have this week and next week before I get to enjoy Labor Day weekend and then have a 1-day work week(!) before heading out to Walla Walla for the wine tasting goodness that will be our 3 girls vacation... Oh, sweet, sweet vacation! How I long for you!

This week seems like it's going to be less manic than last week was (w00t!) and I am a little sad about that, but mostly excited to enjoy 6 more days off before I start my new show! I might even get to go to yoga tomorrow (what?) and that makes me happy pants! And I have plans to see two shows this week/end! Theatre in all my free time!

Also, big HUGE congrats goes out to my mama for getting a new job! I am SO proud of her and can't wait to take her out to dinner (Thurs? 8PM? Piatti's? Does that work, ladies?) to celebrate her AWESOMENESS! I love you, mamacita!

Today, I literally have plans to head home post-work and immediately get into my pajamas to relax and I am super excited about that! I might (BIG might) do some laundry too, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that one.

I am so glad, though, that I have a full entryway hallway! Getting all of that goodwill crap outta there makes it look HUGE. Most of it had been sitting there since we moved in (so, almost 4 months? YEESH!), so it makes a big difference to have that all cleaned up and outta there.

Today is one of the last nice days of the summer, according to the weather people, so I will be enjoying one of my last lunches outside... And I am wearing my grey j brand skinnies from Nordys, black sheer thrifter tee and H&M sparkly bolero with my new Steve Madden gladiators from the Rack. All black or dark grey--attempts to soak up as much warmth and sun as possible on these last few summer days!

Sunday, Lazy Sunday

SUPER lazy day today. Got to sleep in (finally) and then went and dropped off all the stuff that has been sitting in our hallway ever since we moved at Goodwill with my sister and then had a super lazy afternoon and evening and dinner at my mama's with my seestor and nana. Very excited to have had a lazy day. I just wish I could have another one tomorrow... Oh wells, a girl's got to eat, right? At least I have no plans tomorrow night, so I can continue to lazitude after I get off work.

Today I worse my red Fossil "think globally, act locally" tee, black jolt pants from Nordys and new brown Mia booties from the Rack.

Whoopsie Daisy

What happens when you take one part going to yoga in the morning with one part quickly packing your bag to head to an unplanned game? Well it equals leaving your debit card & bus pass in the wrong purse... Blearg! Thank god Dani was there to cover me (and I was NOT a cheap date).

Seahawks game was awesome! w00t for free tickets and making friends. I am SO Dani's date whenever she wants someone to go with her...

Zandi's was also super-fun! It was so great to see all the peeps I haven't in a while (not gonna lie, mostly excited to see my ex-lover! Miss him SO MUCH!) Also, who knew drinks could be cheap in Pioneer Square (pretty sure one was free, but even so...)? Seriously, who knew? Go Fado.

So, I had to go home to change and grab my cards pre-actually going out... where I grabbed my H&M bolero, bdg black saddle shoes from UO and knit flower headband from LA...

Oh, and PS thank you roomie for finding my rings! I probably put them in the MOST random place in my apartment.

Surprise Surprise!

Oh, today was loverly! Woke up early (seriously, what is WITH that lately, body!), went to yoga this morning, then went to Bed Bath & Beyond and got Jess & me a combo blender/food processor and a compost bin and then relaxed this afternoon. It was glorious! It felt both lazy and like I got things done.

Then, I just got a phone call from Dani asking me if I wanted to go to tonight's Seahawks game with her... um, YES PLEASE! Super excited! I have actually never been to one... w00t! Should be amazing! Even pre-season rocks!

Then later on tonight I will probably be heading to Zandi's bday at a bar and then (possibly, really POSSIBLY) get to Schmorg... But now with the football game... we will see... What a wonderful Saturday! Fun times!

I am wearing my grey Levis skinny jeans, new Steve Madden sandals from the Rack, Kerney #97 Seahawks jersey and black Costco tank.

Settle Down Now

Whew! Finally Friday, thank god! Seriously, this week was like molasses... No good. But now I have two full days of (basically) nothing. I mean there are a few things I WANT to do (Lindy, this means you!), but I don't even know if those are gonna happen, so this could end up being a low-key lay in bed all day(s) kind of weekend... **le sigh**

Yesterday, FFOK was awesome. It was my first official night as Princess of FFOK and it rocked! I sang a little "Ease on Down the Road", rocked some harmonies with my FFOK bff on "Holding Out for a Hero", broke out the "Downtown (Skid Row)" from Little Shop and blew the roof off with "I Put a Spell on You"--hearts! I love that I can go to it by myself and just hope people are there because 95% of the time someone I know is there and when there isn't? I make new friends (karaoke is THE best way to do this!). So much love to my FFOK fam!

I also tried to buy groceries for a little cleanse I was gonna do... and then... the blender broke (well, it quite possibly never worked in the first place). BOO! So, now I have all these ingredients for smoothies and no way to make them... Oh wells. I guess I will just try to stick to the veggies options (ya know, excusing the pie I had for breakfast yesterday & today). Good intentions, though!

I also went to Nordstrom Rack beforehand to look for some replacement black sandals for the ones that bit the dust on Sat and BOY HOWDY did I find some! I found some $20 ones! Check 'em out! They are the Steve Madden Kisser sandals in black and I got them for supes on sale. I also ended up buying some Mia boots for only $90! Love them! Can't wait to break both of these bad girls in!

One more week(-ish) off... and then I start rehearsals for Money! Super excited! I can't wait to meet everyone in the cast and start rocking this mother! Plus I get to be the skanky dumb wife and I get to do a North Carolinian accent? Excitement!

Tonight Dani & I are gonna go get dinner (salad for me!) and drinks (water for me!) before heading to see "Man of La Mancha" at Taproot. Go Mike & Don! I so love supporting friends in theatre. Tomorrow I might grab drinks with Carolyn, Kate & Sara (girls of GreenStage unite!) if that was the date they agreed upon (unclear emails) or else head to my ex-lover's (heart my Touchstone!) roomie's bday party for a bit and then try to make it Schmorg... whew! So much for a low-key weekend! Sun is dinner with the mama, seestor and nana! Family Time!

I am wearing my grey Hollister tee (the ONLY thing I own of theirs and it was a gift) with pink & green flowery details, seethrusoul dark denim flares from Nordys, green striped Cardigan sweater and Sperry Top-Siders also from Nordys (seriously, do I go a day without wearing something I bought at Nordstrom?). Somehow last night between grocery shopping and home, I managed to lose my black cocktail & fleur de lis rings, too (sad panda). Seriously, no idea where they ended up... Hopefully, they will turn up somewhere in my apt...

Statuesque

My massage last night really made me realize how much that accident messed with my body. Super-boo! She really worked on my uppershoulders and neck (to say that I'm sore today would be quite an understatement) and found places that were tight, probably from the accident, that even I didn't realize were a little off (my inside left shoulder where it meets my arm, I know, right?! RANDOM!)... Anyway, she says it's probably going to take way more than 2 massages to get rid of this gook--boo... I have another one next week to see how I am faring, hopefully I will be all healed?

This morning I was about 3/4 of the way ready to leave when I remembered we have prospective clients coming into the office, so I had to completely change what I was planning on wearing... And I love it! It is so much better than the outfit I almost wore! Sometimes desperation in fashion leads to the BEST combos.

I totally heart these elevensea high waisted, wide-leg black pants with buttons down the left side bought on sale at Anthropologie (and I don't wear them enough!) which I am wearing with my fuchsia BCBG maxazaria top and Linea Paolo grommeted flats from Nordys and my thrifted 3/4 length black cardigan. I am also wearing my Express silver cuff and giant black cocktail ring.

Tonight I get a little spa treat for myself (it is my week off, so I deserve it) and then head up to the hill for a little FFOK later on. Rock it! I am now a Princess of FFOK, so w00t!

Bicentennial

Well, this is my 200th(!) POST! WHAT?! Incredible! I kinda can't believe that this little experiment that I started back in April actually turned into something that I legitimately love and consistently post on (almost) everyday. It's always nice to find those little things...

Last night getting my haircut was the most glorious treat! Plus, like I knew she would be, Zoe was SO excited that she got to cut my hair as short as it should be. And it looks incredible. Too bad I couldn't have had the hair off the back of my neck during the heat of the summer... but I DID have to put it back in a (mini-)ponytail for the show... ah... what I deal with for my "art"--haha!

Tonight I get my first massage (of the two I was prescribed from the accident back in July) and I am so excited about it. Seriously, I am still a little stiff (which I realized when I went back to yoga) and just want to get this worked out.

Today I am wearing my new eight sixty black cropped trousers and black Sofft pumps with a tie front both from Nordys, grey Fossil ruffle tank and thrifted black 3/4 sleeve cardigan. I am also wearing my mirror earrings (you can see them again with my hair short!) and giant black cocktail ring.

You Kill Clothes, pt 2

These died on the walk from my apartment to Volunteer Park on Saturday for the final As You performance... A good two years... And now no more.

The strap from the right shoe

The right...

The left shoe

New: Hair

OMG! I love my hair girl--check it out! She was so excited when I told her she could cut it as short as she wanted. LOVE!

In Full Bloom

I get a haircut tonight! That is like the highlight of my life right now. Seriously. I have needed one for a WHILE now... and I made an appointment for my girl's first available time period this week. I'm gonna let her go as short as she wants (for once) as well. SO EXCITED!

I have now officially made plans for every single night this week which, I have to say, I am very excited about. Haircut tonight, tomorrow I get a massage, Thurs I am getting a little spa treat for myself followed by some FFOK and Fri Dani & I are grabbing drinks and then going to see Man of La Mancha at Taproot! Plus I might hit up Schmorg on Sat... Busy but awesome first week off!

Last night Matt, his bf and I all went to see Scott Pilgrim vs The World, grabbing drinks at Buckley's and running into Anne beforehand! It was so much fun! Great to catch-up with Matt & David, AMAZING to see Anne (who is busier than I am, swear to god) and the movie effing ROCKED! Seriously! I'd say by about 1/3 of the way into it, I was contemplating how much the end would have to suck for me NOT to buy it (it didn't--this movie will be on my shelf as soon as it's released). It is definitely a movie for our comic book, video game, slo-mo battle, Super Nintendo, confusing relationships, ambiguous sexuality generation too... Pretty sure that if you are over-40 this movie would be a lot less hilarious and a lot more confusing. Plus it really made me want every little thing I did right after the movie ended to be accompanied by awesome sound effects! GO SEE IT! Seriously! I might even wanna go again, so let me know!

Concentrating on the haircut at the end of the day! So much goodness in that! And because I always like hair accessories with my longer hair, I am wearing my white flower headband from Claire's(!), $6 H&M black skirt with my cream kimchi blue tunic from UO, black cap-sleeved cropped sweater from Macy's and Linea Paolo black grommeted flats from Nordys. I am also accessorizing with my silver & black beaded bracelets, giant black cocktail ring and long black beaded necklace.

Beaded Tears

Whew, well, since not much has happened since le last post, I will just say what I am wearing TODAY now that we are back on track. I am in my maroon matty m beaded tank from Nordys with my H&M grey work shorts, cropped black cap-sleeved sweater from Macys and gold Zara sandals.

Oh Mondays... Thank god I have to movie to look forward to...

Summer in the City

Summer has returned to Seattle with a vengeance! Today will be the third day in a row that it's in the 90's and I, for one, think it is glorious!

Yesterday I spent a few hours in air conditioning while I was ushering for and then watching The Belle of Amherst and, while I knew that it would be a one-woman show, I somehow didn't make the connection about how amazing it was to watch one person carry an entire 2-hour show onstage the whole time... basically by herself (she had a cellist onstage too, but he never spoke). And Maria Glanz--HOLY CRAP! I feel like I need to just inhale her talent. She seriously made that show, which really didn't have all that much plot, bounce along at a very loverly speed. I was very glad that I was able to catch its remounted production and feel like it is such a valuable tool for me as I attempt to write my own one-person cabaret... someday...

After the show we headed over to Ken's for the end of the season BBQ where we all ate and talked and drank and played croquet for four(-ish) loverly hours. It was such a great send-off on such a gorgeous summer day. Seeing everyone one last time all together was good closure, although I am sure that the post-partum isn't going to kick in until I realize that I have no shows this weekend. That and I better effing see my As Yous again... It they disappear from my life I will not a be a happy Gina... not at all...

Somehow (still not exactly sure how), a few of us ended up at Hula Hula post-BBQ for some karaoke. I thoroughly enjoyed singing 3 ballads (since none are allowed @ FFOK, I have to get my fill elsewheres) and seriously figured out that Jewel's Foolish Games is a HAWT song for me to sing. DAMN! That was a good one. I also rocked a little Eva Cassidy "Songbird" and Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" (do you realize how many times you say "I know" in that song? Yeah, I didn't either...) I made new friends and reconnected with old and gotta sing some karaoke. Besides the skany-ass bachelorette party and skeezy guy from Louisiana who sang ONLY country songs, it was good times...

Today I get to go see Scott Pilgrim after work, tomorrow I get a haircut, & Wed/Thurs I get a massage... ah... Good time off for sheezy!

Yesterday I work my teal kimchi blue ruffle front tank from UO and edme & esyllte from Anthropologie polka dotted and striped skirt with my white Seychelles sailor slingbacks from Nordys. I also grabbed my navy & white polka dotted parfait sweater also from Nordys in case it got cold. I only needed inside in the AC for the play...

That's All Folks

Well, last night was the last show of As You Like It... Totally bittersweet. I am so sad that we can no longer be a part of the forest of Arden. I loved everyone and everything involved in this summer's shows. Today is the last meeting of everyone at Ken's and then... it's officially over. Super sad panda. Thanks to my family and roomie for coming out! It meant a lot to me. Also, thanks to Alicia & Kenna for sticking the monies down my corset--been waiting for that ALL SUMMER!

Yesterday for the 90-degree heat, I work my matty m tank dress from Nordys and my (totally dead) UO black sandals.

Hipstamatic

Well, this head cold certainly came on fast and furious! I was planning on going to ballet last night, but bailed because my nose wouldn't stop running. I figured a relaxing night and heading to bed early would be just what I needed to nip this thing. And yet, still stuffed this morning. I'll definitely be taking a lunch trip to QFC to get some 12-hour cold relief--blearg! I feel like I just got over that last crap! Thanks, body... just, thanks...

Tonight is the first show of our closing weekend at Volunteer Park and I am so sad to be leaving the forest of Arden... These last 6 weeks absolutely flew by and seriously, I could do this show forever. I am definitely gonna miss all the wonderful peeps... Man... now I'm all sad panda. I am really hoping that we all go out post-show tonight and do something after closing tomorrow afternoon. I really just wanna milk all the time with my Ardenites that I can!

For our return to the Hill, I am rocking a super-hipster look: olive ruffle-front Zara tunic with my Aprie straw hat, Sperry Top-Siders from Nordys and gold chain from a boutique in the UD. I am also wearing my giant black cocktail ring, gifted bejeweled bracelet and black H&M military jacket (for if it gets cooler tonight). Excited to head back up the Hill & into the forests of Arden!

Electric Feel

Whew! I fell asleep quickly and slept through the night and awoke (mostly) refreshed! Three cheers for a full night's sleep! (Thank GOD!)

Roomie and I met for a drink and then went to see Ruined last night. And ran into Nicole & Kate from As You! What a wonderful surprise! I love seeing my As You peeps outside of the requisite show times... makes my soul rejoice...

I really liked the show, too. It was definitely dark and intense, but the story was strong and Lynn Nottage did a great job of writing both strong and vulnerably flawed female characters. Plus, I love that they are bringing the show down to South Africa. The one thing that really bothered me (besides the length--I mean, come on, 2.5 hours?! Really?! I am totes fine with 2h 10m or 2h 15m, but for some reason that last quarter hour is AWFUL to me... blearg. Any way, back to the one thing that bothered me...) and it is probably the Brechtian in me, but I REALLY wanted the 2 commanding generals (gov't v rebels) to be played by the same person! I feel like that could have added this great layer to the show. I kept thinking they couldn't do that because there must be a confrontation scene, BUT THERE WASN'T! There would only be 1 relatively quick change also! And I think making the escalating evil on both sides have the same face would have been a great statement in the show as a whole... but whatevs...

Tonight I am planning on heading out to ballet for the first time in many, many months and I'm very excited about it! Gonna try to get back to it especially once my Annex show opens (shows only on Fri & Sat). Split my time b/t ballet and yoga because I definitely saw a difference in my dancing auditions without the consistent dancing each week...

I also went grocery shopping yesterday before the show and seriously, I needed to... Luckily, I now have teh foodz. Unfortunately, I STILL forgot to buy coffee! WTF?! It's been an entire week without it... No good...

Today I am wearing my grey & white pinstriped Fossil seersucker pants, Sperry Top-Siders & royal blue Bellatrix beaded tank both from Nordys and my Mod Cloth grey lace top 3/4 length sleeve sweater. Accessorizing with my cream coral bracelet from Hawaii and my giant gold hoops. PS what you can't see in that picture on the left is the cat rubbing against my ankles and making me laugh RIGHT as the camera was taking the picture... meh, what can you do?

Ruffles Have Ridges

Oh man, Insomnia:2, Gina:0.

Two night's in a row now I have had the heart thumping anxiety (over what? You tell me...) that won't let me fall asleep and it effing sucks! I hate being good and turning off my lights/computer/etc to go to bed at a decent hour and then... not being able to fall asleep. I mean, come ON! How is it fair that I am tired all day, but the one time that I can actually indulge (and possibly cure) my exhaustion, is exactly when my body tells me it's time to WAKE UP. I hate this shizz...

I have now tried yoga (to tire the body as well as the mind) and showering at night to cure this ish. Hopefully, a 2.5 hour play will do the trick tonight? We shall see...

Jess and I are seeing Ruined tonight (for freezies--YES!) and I have heard good things. I am definitely glad that I am able to catch it (nationally recognized show in Seattle with most of the original cast? Yes, please!). More post-show... Hopefully we will be getting some drinks/foodzies pre-show and playing roomie catch-up (haven't really seen her since...um... we accidentally ran into each other at 14/48 on Sat?)--fun times!

I am wearing my Pitaya side-zip cropped jeans with my Zara gold sandals, and grey boyfriend sweater & grey rrrrruffled tank both from Fossil. PS note the cat tail cameo in the middle picture? That's what happens when I am never home... he becomes all needy...

You're My Obsession

Seriously. OBSESSED! Am literally IN LOVE with the new purse, the Tory Burch Dafine Tote. It is huge in the gorgeous buttery brown leather with this great gold hardware and Tory's signature T lightly patterning the bag. Plus, please note the tassle! The details are amazing! And it can be a crossbody bag OR a handheld... le sigh... If it wasn't $500 I might even consider buying this lovely item...

IN LOVE. LOOOOOOVE!

Lady Wears The Blues

Thanks, co-workers, for some good times last night! We should do it again (haha, right, like in our free time? But srsly...)! We grabbed some wine and fatty foodz at RockSalt near work (um...happy hour from 3-9? Yes, please!) and then I went home utterly exhausted and did nothing. But, of course, when it was time to go to sleep my pounding heart wouldn't let me. God only knows what was causing me so much anxiety, but it certainly did NOT want me to get a good night of rest that's for damn sure...

Tonight I am going to yoga. Hopefully to thwart that silly anxiety from creeping back in right around sleepy-time... Blearg. DISLIKE.

I also supes need to go grocery shopping tonight post-yoga. I have NO FOODZ! NONE. And, ya know, toilet paper would be nice... (sorry roomie--meant to grab that last nite...)

Today I am rocking the blues: blue & white Banana Republic tee with my Parfait navy & white polkadotted ruffle sweater and seethrusoul jeans both from Nordys. And then the contrast in my grey plastic Target shoes.

Think Pink

Oh cloudy Monday, how you make me super-extra tired... At least it's supposed to be warm & sunny for our closing weekend!

I am starting to think about all the things I need to do once this show closes (and the list is growing exponentially). Among the top are finally go and get my massages from the accident and get a haircut. I would also love to paint my nails. :) It's the little things... So much to get done in 13 days...

Plus I am still holding out for a day at Lake Tapps with Dani to just lay out on a floaty or in a boat and relaxxxxxxx... That's all I want. One day. I am also SUPER looking forward to Walla Walla wine trip with my mama & seestor in September (followed by a spa day)! We are gonna have so much fun! GreenStage may have postponed my vacations, but I will fit them in there somehow...

Today, I am wearing my light pink Rubbish tee from Nordys with my bdg skinny jeans and lux vest from UO and Steve Madden black boots. I am also rocking my black beaded necklace and giant black cocktail ring.

Drinks tonight with co-workers? Might happen. Just. Might. Happen
