Obama, keep your hands off my girl

While casting his ballot in Chicago on Monday, President Obama was given an unusual voting instruction.

“Mr. President, don’t touch my girlfriend,” a Chicago man, later identified by CNN as Mike Jones, quipped as he walked by the pair casting their ballots.

{mosads}“I really wasn’t planning on it,” Obama shot back with a smile.

Jones’s finance, Aia Cooper, flushed with embarrassment and apologized for her boyfriend.

“I am sorry, please excuse him. … I can’t believe Mike, he is such a fool,” she said.

Obama joked Jones was “an example of a brother just embarrassing you for no reason whatsoever” but said the pair would at least have a story for their friends and family.

Obama said to Cooper: “Fortunately, the president was nice about it, so it’s alright.”

“I am freaking out right now,” Cooper said while doubling over with laughter.

In a subsequent interview with WLS-TV, Cooper said the president got back at Jones by planting a hug and a kiss on Cooper.

“On the cheek, just the cheek — please, Michelle, don’t come after me — just the cheek!” Cooper said.

The president’s appearance at the Chicago voting polling station was part of a White House bid to drive early voting.
