He says to let your awareness notice the thought and then try reconnect with center your breath in you awareness.He wants you to focus on the feeling of your breathing without making a conscience effort to breathe.I would consider practicing trying to stay in the moment but I wouldn't try and focus on my breath. I would want to try and focus what is actually happening around me because its what in happening in the moment.
