Kid Cudi let off some steam on Twitter Tuesday night, slamming his record label for not getting his work on the radio. The rapper, born Scott Mescudi, noticed that two of his songs, "King Wizard" and "Just What I Am," had roughly the same amount of video views as Trinidad James' "All Gold Everything." The James track is a radio standard, while Cudi's songs apparently aren't in rotation all that often.
The tweets -- which include some colorful language -- are available below. Cudi's comparison is perhaps only semi-valid. James was an unknown artist before "All Gold Everything" lit up blogs and subsequently the radio, so it's more notable that he was able to drum up the same number of video views as a relatively well-known act like Cudi. Also, the James single is perfect for the radio: lyrically and sonically unchallenging with a hook that's much more jingle than poem.
Still, the Wizard has a point, and perhaps G.O.O.D. Music and/or Universal Records saw his tweets. Check out all three songs after Cudi's tweets and let us know what you think in the comments.
