Lithuania starts partnership with Aviareps in eight European markets

Multinational aviation and tourism management expert becomes official in-market representation.

Aviareps starts 2013 with the new destination client Lithuania in Germany, France, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland and Russia. The Munich-based group has won the account for eight European countries until 2015. With immediate effect Aviareps represents the Tourism sector of the Republic of Lithuania in the areas of marketing and public relations.

Raimonda Balniene, Director General Republic of Lithuania, State Department of Tourism describes the destination as follows:

“Since February 2013, Lithuanian State Department of Tourism is changing the strategy of tourism representation abroad.

Increasing the incoming tourism, raising the awareness of Lithuania and improving the image of the country are three main tasks, which were assigned by State Department of Tourism for the new representation companies, selected after the international public procurement procedures.

Based on their extensive experience in international destination marketing, we expect positive and qualitative results helping tourists to discover Lithuania as a new tourism destination. We invite tourists to Lithuania: See it! Feel it! Love it!

According to the statistics, Lithuania is among the leaders in Europe in the growing flows of incoming tourism. It reached 12 percent in 2012.”

Thomas Drechsler, Chief Operating Officer Tourism at Aviareps AG in Munich, sees great potential to position the vacation destination Lithuania even more on the European markets. “To represent Lithuania in the contracted European territories is an honor for us. There are many reasons to visit Lithuania. The country has over 200 wildlife sanctuaries and an interesting cultural history. The capital, Vilnius, was not only European capital of culture, but is also a World Heritage Site with its old town”, he mentions some of the advantages of the southernmost of the three Baltic States.
