David Evans was appointed as COO of Elk Petroleum Ltd., effective April 29, the company said April 13.
Most recently, he worked for Drillsearch for six years as executive general manager of operations, chief technical officer and acting chief technical officer. Evans has 29 years’ experience in upstream global oil and natural gas development and E&P experience, including brownfield redevelopments and EOR projects.
Prior to working at Drillsearch, Evans held managerial and senior oil and gas development and production positions at Vegas Egypt, Burren Energy Plc, Petro-Canada International, Cairn Energy/Command Petroleum, Roxar Ltd., Baker Hughes Inteq and other companies. He also worked for the petroleum segment of the Australian Geological Survey Organisation.
Evans is a development geologist, Elk Petroleum said. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of London, a postgraduate diploma from Oxford Brookes University in the U.K. and a master’s degree from the University of Canberra in Australia.
Elk Petroleum Ltd. is based in Australia.
