Damon had a seriously bad start to life but when he was six he was taken in by Cole and Beth (couple from a previous book) and his life turned for the best. He struggled with trying to forget what his father instilled in him and take to heart the love and understanding that was being offered to him but it wasn't until four year old Willa accepted him and gave him her unconditional love that he started to believe. From that point on he loved Willa completely and was devoted to her and her happiness. In the previous books, we get to see how their relationship went from a beautiful, innocent relationship that children have to a true love that adults share.

In this book, both are scared to admit that they are in love with one another. For Damon, he still lives with the doubt of whether he can overcome his beginnings. For Willa, she is scared that Damon may not love her the way she loves him. With a little help from family and friends they reveal how much they love and have always loved one another. Both struggled with insecurities yet their love was never doubted and in the end it helped them to overcome the insecurities. But when someone from the past comes back to destroy what he has built will Damon believe in the love and trust that his family and Willa have given him all these years?

Ok, I have to say that I love how the author handled the love between these two. In similar books where you have a couple who have been in love with each other for years but have not said anything. The couple dates and sleeps with other people until they believe it is time to reveal to each other that they are in love. In this book, while this couple may have not said the words they are still devoted to each other through the years and don't even date let alone kiss another person.They share every first and it was amazing to see how they progressed in the relationship. I think it makes the love more believable because neither was ever with another person in a romantic/sexual way. Damon and Willa are my absolute favorite of this series.

Awe, I’ve missed Willow Creek, I’d forgotten how lovely the McClain family are.
Enjoyed meeting the adult Damon and Willa, who have both turned out to be really lovely, caring people, with family at the forefront of their lives.
How sweet that they both we so so much in love with each other, but either of them didn’t want to Say it out loud, in case the other didn’t feel the same!
Oh dear Calla and Jared, so naughty! Especially forcing Willa and Damon’s hands like they did bit it was quite funny too!
They went about their lives in total denial, with everybody knowing how they both felt!
Willa is a sweet gentle girl, worried about what people think of her, she doesn’t like thinking people think badly of her. She grew up totally surrounded by such a loving family.
Damon, with a heart of gold, having grown into such a lovely man, who’d do anything for anyone, especially Willa. They have an unbreakable bond, and have had it since they first met 19 years earlier.
Damon’s initial start was quite horrendous with a terrible father, but thankfully he soon learned what family was all about, giving him fantastic foundations to work with.
So the suspense of who the little girl is! Loved this part, hated the situation but I was on the edge of my seat reading through to find out what was going to happen next.
I loved how strong Willa was, always fighting and rooting for the underdog.
Damon went through quite a lot, just loved the outcome and happy for Damon and Willa too, their news, I had a DOH moment, after realising why Willa had been feeling tired.
I love that you give great detailed backgrounds, even though this story is part of a series and whilst you get a greater enjoyment when read in order, so far each book could be read as a standalone.
As a reader you get dragged into the story, as if you are a fly on the wall, living all the experiences with them.
Looking forward to Toby and Addy’s story

I love all of them, each and every couple of this series has their own charm, but Damon and Willa... WOW. There's nothing better than those two out there. If you're one for heartache and pain, love and laughter, sighing and melting, you need to get this book in your collection. I kid you not. Buy it. All of them.

The book is an easy sweet read. There were slow moments where I got bored and lost interest.

Loved Damon and willa they had a good back drop that made the romance believable. Tiny bit of angst. The book just missed on a wow factor for me.
