Wireless iPad keyboard crafted from bamboo

Approximately 92 percent of the materials that go into iZen are recyclable or renewable.

I've been very happy with my solar-powered Logitech keyboard (which, note to self, needs some time in the sun) but my gadget-envy radar went on alert when I read about another "green" peripheral called iZen.

iZen Keyboard is handmade out of bamboo, about 92 percent of the materials that make up this product. The company behind the product makes other bamboo-inspired covers, cases and stands, including an iPhone case for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s models.

The keyboard was designed for the Apple iPad, but the company suggests that it could also work with any device that connects via Bluetooth including Macintosh systems, your iPhone, an Android tablet or smartphone, or even Windows mobile gadgets and computers.

The iZen Keyboard uses Bluetooth to connect and runs off a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. (You charge the battery via a USB 2.0 cable.) The keyboard weighs about 1.1 pounds and measures 11.5 inches wide x 5 inches long x 0.75 inches high.

The keyboard is priced at $99.
