Newsletter July 2016
The new season is getting up to speed and the sun is shining. A very nice forecast for many of you with the benefit that our workshop reached a new record of 32 cars. Not only is the workshop almost bursting, we also had to take 3 cars into storage because stacking cars one on top of each other is apparently not an option.
We told you before that our team has expanded to 4 in the workshop and a lady in the office. Well, we must admit that we have expanded even more with 2 of Julian's old palls joining us to cope with the toys you are thrusting at us. We are in the process of a new rather special showroom in the near future but we will brief you on that later. Again, thank you for the trust, the friendship and the petrol fueled virus we share.
Like many of our existing friends already do, We are pleased to invite you to come over for a quick chat and/or coffee in our toyshop. We will always have something new in and are always interested in your stories.

Alfa Romeo 1750 SS Testa Fissa coming to an end
Last week we finally received the all new Memini carburetor for this wonderful machine. This very rare carburetor was made to original specification specially for this car. Once again, the engine - carburetor relation is correct as it should be. We had to modify the inlets to fit the slightly reclined radiator but that was an easy job. After we double check the whole car, we expect it to start in the coming days! Brrrrrrrum!!
The cars engine was cracked beyond sensible repair so we made new patterns, then cast and machined a new example to original specification. With a fixed head, double overhead camshafts and tiny 65mm bores for only 1750cc's this was no ordinary engine to rebuild! We have completely rebuilt the engine with new pistons, camshafts, rods, etc and even the supercharger with new inner parts and gears so the engine is ready for many more Mille Miglia's and other rallies to come.
What a beauty!

3D CAD (Solidworks)
Did we mention before that in our team of fine craftsmen, we also can provide you the latest technologies like fully 3D CAD models, calculations and renderings?
After a degree in Product Development and years of experience in a design studio, designing and engineering feels like a second nature for Ben. As an example, last week we developed boot hinge in Solidworks, This special hinge was designed to go Up and Over and then to automatically click locked in the open position, We then sent the individual CAD drawings to have each part laser cut, to enable us to assemble the hinge in the following few days. It saves a lot of time and work to design systems and do calculations in the CAD program. Trail & error is reduced to a minimum and some of the pressure is taken away from the workshop to focus on the cars.
The shaft in the drawing above is another example, this was for a complete new Constant Mesh gearbox that we designed and manufactured for a 1930 Invicta.
Do you have a bracket that is broken off, do you want to have prototype made or do you want to check if all your dimensions will add up: feel free to contact us and we will do our best to help. info@hcservices.be

Adobe Photoshop impressions
The same goes for Adobe Photoshop. Many of you will link Photoshop to making supermodels skinny and very good looking. And that is exactly what we are doing with your car models. If you have a vehicle and you are hesitating about the colour? We can do a colour swap without even touching your car. Are you not sure if you want 19 or 21inch wheels, wait with spending money before we photoshop you the impression. Not sure about a normal screen or a Vee shaped windscreen? No problem at all, that also lays within our possibilities. When connected to our Cad software, even a complete prototype body can be designed in 3D if you so wish, and rendered in the colours of your choice.
Feel free to contact us and we will do our best to help. info@hcservices.be
