Fatal traffic crash, Townsville

Forensic Crash Unit officers are currently investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at West End in Townsville this morning.

Initial inquiries indicate shortly after 7am a truck and bicycle have collided near the intersection of Echlin and Stagpole Streets.

The male rider of the bicycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigations are continuing and police are appealing for witnesses to the crash or anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the crash to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000
