Think Tank #1

Science, in comics, is undergoing somewhat of a renaissance what with the excellent The Manhattan Projects and now Think Tank, the cover of which warns me that this book will make me smarter – if it did, it wasn’t noticeable (perhaps as it’s more New Scientist than Nature). I could have stomached more science, which is most unusual for me. Dr. David Loren, maths whizz and indirect mass murderer, was almost unlikeable, however, has great potential. Momentum built nicely throughout the issue to a neat cliff-hanger, ensuring I’d follow up. For once, I thought the issue could have benefited from colour.
Rating *** (twist)
