Oprah Winfrey has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president and believes she is going to beat Donald Trump for the White House.
The 62-year-old mogul on Wednesday told Entertainment Tonight, “I really believe that is going to happen. And this is the truth: America, it’s about time we make that decision.”
Previously, the billionaire talk show host had been identified as one of the powerful women in Hollywood who had not donated to Clinton’s campaign. Although Clinton is the presumptive Democratic nominee, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has remained in the primary race.
“It’s a seminal moment for women,” Winfrey told ET. “What this says is there is no ceiling — that ceiling just went boom. It says anything is possible when you can be leader of the free world.”
Winfrey again expressed her support for Clinton during an interview on Thursday with Good Morning America.
“I’m with her,” she said, quoting Clinton’s campaign tag. “Regardless of your politics, you cannot be a woman in the world and not see that this is a monumental time for women breaking the ceiling.”
In 2008, Winfrey endorsed then-Sen. Barack Obama over Clinton.
