Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Pine Creek (Bundaberg)

A 31-year-old man is currently assisting police with enquiries into an incident last night in Pine Creek where a man was struck by a vehicle.

Initial investigations indicate that around 10pm, two groups of men, in separate vehicles, have become involved in a verbal altercation on Haylocks Road.

A 31-year-old man from Pine Creek, one of the drivers, has then driven his vehicle into the other vehicle a number of times.

At this time, both drivers and passengers, have left their vehicles and began physically fighting.

The 31-year-old driver then returned to his vehicle, driving directly at a one of the passengers of the second vehicle and chasing him down the road. He has then hit the man, a 52-year-old, causing him to be trapped under the vehicle.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to assist in freeing the man, before being transported to Bundaberg Base Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The man, a 52-year-old, is currently in a stable condition.

Police located the driver a short while later and he is currently assisting with their investigations.

There is no further information available at this stage.
