But when I am plugging the charger the LED that suppose to indicate charging lights up of about 10-15 minutes and then go off. If I try to reconnect it won't light up again. I have to remove battery for a 30 s and then it charges again.

I am now doing a second loop of that. Maybe it will recover somehow.

---------- Post added at 14:45 ---------- Previous post was at 13:52 ----------

Ok it work out. On the second loop the LED was constantly ON and after about 50 minutes I was able to turn M52 on.

P.S. I have also problem with S-cover. It made ugly scratches on factory protecting film.

So I left my phone to run dry while using it and didn't charge it for 12 hours, and the problem with charging it occurred, checked the voltage on the battery and it was 3.1v, and the phone was only enable to be turn on at 3.3v and it took about 30min to get enough charge to turn on.

Waiting on the new update hoping for a volume and camera fix(pink photos), the only two things I find lackluster on this phone.

I'm back! Sorry but my computer did an impression of a paving slab.

Ok, As soon as I have had an opinion from citta on the first description of getting root, I will post it. So probably tomorrow. The second method will follow later.

Issue after OTA update

I got a M52 last week and it came with 5.0 installed I had some mild bugs with it and thought today wonder if there is an update available clicked settings> about phone> wireless update, perfect updated fine phone came back on everything seems fine but every single app crashes as soon as it's opened, found this forum as I was looking for a way to flash it back to the original 5.0 or even 4.4.4.

I'm just a bit lost as to what to do, I've e-mailed MLais, but literally nothing will open.

I think from reading around the forum that because it's 5.0 I can't flash it just yet, is that right?

Has anyone encountered a similar issues?

Thanks Paul

would appear to be the same build but probably hoping a fresh install will solve it, the phone was working great just it wouldn't send or receive texts.

Oh well just wait for this to download and see if it solves the issues.

I had the exact same problem as you (did you buy it from Tinydeal with Android 5 already installed?)

I reflashed with the latest ROM and it's all working fine now. Firstly you need to get those mediatek drivers installed properly on Windows 8, to do that you need to is edit Install.bat by adding the lines

Code:
for /f %%i in ('ver^|find "6.2."') do echo Win 8 && set osrecognized=1
for /f %%i in ('ver^|find "6.3."') do echo Win 8.1 && set osrecognized=1

Directly below the Windows 7 line. To get the driver install to work, you need to copy the folder "SmartPhoneDriver" to C:\Windows\System32 and then run the Install.bat. Allow the install of all the unsigned driver messages that will pop up during the execution of the bat files.

Then all you need to do is follow the MLais video exactly and the flashing will go well! Any other questions, please just ask

I installed the driver by going to Driver_Auto_Installer_v1.1236.00\SmartPhoneDriver\x64\ and clicking dpinst.exe and spinstall.exe. (or it didn't do nothing and i had some standard drivers already)

Rooting M52 with Lollipop

PREAMBLE:
I originally came up with a way of rooting a M52 with Lollipop installed. It worked but was far too complicated. In this thread I have made some replies about a method that should enable root. I decided to see if those ideas would actually work and would also provide root for the phone.

I tried and found a way, I found some volunteers for the method, unfortunately in over 60% it did not work because of a problem with bootloader on the phone. Therefore with the collaboration of citta, the method below was tested and finalised. With some more work from the volunteers.

Citta deserves a lot of thanks because it is with his collaboration that this exists. He has also graciously hosted the recovery image file and found the links for the other items needed.

All the other volunteers, on this forum and elsewhere also deserve thanks for putting their time and phones where my ideas went.

The method described below is the one that seems to offer the best chance of working on the M52 there are no guarantees, And there have been failures. If you are unsure of your ability or anything please wait till someone comes up with a one click solution.

The method described is not unique and I make no claims in that respect. Conjecture followed by experiments.

As always please be aware that attempting to alter your phone can cause problems even to hard bricking your phone and having a costly paperweight. If you choose to follow anything I might say or write you do so entirely at your own risk. I take no responsibility for anything you might do after reading this. I do not encourage you or say to follow this, this is posted as what has been done to root an m52,
-----------------------------------------------
Update: With the latest updated Lollipop. Most now can get into recovery with key presses. If that is possible on your phone ignore the steps in blue type.

------------------------------------------------------
Only if you know the risks and dangers and AT YOUR OWN RISK read the following.

These are links for the files. (Thanks to citta)

-----------------------------

Summery

1. Flash custom recovery with SP Flashtool
2 Access recovery mode on phone using adb
3. In recovery mode, flash supersu zip to obtain root access

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Ok
Install ADB and FASTBOOT.

Install USB drivers for ADB and Preloader Mode. There are a multitude of sites/articles some here on XDA and even on this thread. For this description I presume you will have them installed read up on the procedures. Know what to do and how to do them.

Install Flashtools

On your phone install ES file Explorer

Copy your SuperSu.zip to I suggest the 'download' folder on your phone. Also copy SuperSu.apk to
that folder.

Unzip the official rom 20150430_c211_jbl_a128_3m_hd_mlais official.zip into a folder.

Open the folder and rename the recovery.img file to recoveryoriginal.img.
Rename your downloaded custom 'recovery_ctr.img' to 'recovery.img' and copy it to the folder you have the official rom.

Ok now open flashtools and load the scatter file from the official .rom.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK. checkpoint.......

ctr recovery renamed and in the folder where the official scatter file is? Good carry on.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In flashtools

Select recovery.img and ONLY the recovery.img. Nothing else should be ticked!!!!!!!! See cittas pic. Select download.

Again I presume you know the flashing procedure if not go and read up on it before you try anything.

Once flashed and rebooted. Enable debugging then connect to usb. Go to the folder where you have adb installed.

Now you need command prompt. If you have Windows 7 shift plus right click on the adb folder should bring up a menu with command prompt option (thanks to citta for that tip) XP its in the accessories menu.

In XP … type cd\ then enter type cd name of the folder adb is installed enter

However you do it you should now be in command prompt in the adb folder

In command prompt type adb devices................ you should see your phones id.

In command prompt type....... adb reboot recovery.... your phone should reboot into ctr recovery

--------
update If you can get into ctr recovery by key press volup+power.
-----------
In ctr recovery Select install zip …..next screen Install zip from storage/sdcard0 select the folder where you have placed supersu.zip and install it.

OK press reboot.

Once your phone has rebooted go to your apps drawer and check for supersu icon. If it's there open the app and you should be good to go.

If not, open ES file explorer and go to the folder on you phone you have supersu.apk in, click on it and install. Again open the app and you should be good to go.

Hopefully it has gone well :xmint:

Rooting M52 with Lollipop

Thank you for sharing with us !
I keep it for next official Mlais update since I'm already using a pre-rooted Russian lolipop ROM.
But I tried to install your ADB program and I managed to make it start into recovery (after validating on phone when using the "devices" command that the computer was trusted...), so I guess that your procedure should work : SPFlash Tool for custom recovery, then boot into recovery using ADB before installing supersu apk.

Just a question : if we manage to flash the custom recovery, I thought that we would be able to boot into custom recovery with the "power & volume up" buttons pressed at the same time ? Why do we need the ADB command ?

You need custom recovery to install supersu.zip not the apk. The apk is only necessary if you don't find the supersu icon in your apps drawer after.

If your phone actually goes into custom recovery using the key commands go for it :D Most of the ones I know of don't. The adb command definitely reboots into recovery, I think it is easier anyway.

If you are using the Russian rom and already have the carliv custom recovery installed, then I would surmise that when you flash the upcoming official rom. just keep the custom recovery that you have already installed, and use that to install the supersu.zip.

I have a problem...recovery flashed successfully but adb has not found my M52. USB debugging is allowed. And if i try to go to recovery with volume down + power only appears the original chinese one.

I am sorry to say your usb drivers are not working as they should. Suggest you do a search about installing them on your particular Operating System.

If you use vol down + power you get into factory mode not recovery I posted a pic of factory mode v original recovery mode http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=60803064&postcount=759

The custom recovery says carliwm touch recovery.

I've finished the testing of the M52's battery. The tests were done on two replacement batteries that I purchased + one from a friend's M52.

All the batteries were charged by a charger that has the correct CC/CV curve and can charge to 4.35v. The two that I bought, both had over 10 cycles including a deep initial cycle. They were charged to their rating of 4.35v at a initial charge setting of 0.3mA. They were then given 5 minutes rest then discharged with a load of 0.2mA.

The results were interesting, the best figure was 2387mAh Worst was 2201mAh.

Of course not going to get anywhere near those figures when installed in the M52, firstly on three M52 s that I know of, and I presume it correct, they only are charged by the phone to an indicated 4.2v. Which is on my phone actually less when I measure the battery on a DMM. In fact I believe that my phone has problems with the charger.

I believe that when the indicator light goes green (90%) it actually indicates that the CC phase of charging is complete, it is at this point that I think the charger is having problems with the CV phase of charging, getting stuck, not finishing or jumping after a long time on something like 92% to finished in less than a minute. I am not going to do any more testing till the Lollipop update arrives. If it still happens I will test my phones charging and see exactly what is happening during charging.

I have sent Mlais an e-mail asking why if they have a 4.35v battery they only charge it to 4.2v but to date no reply.

To explain the picture, I forgot that the discharger had a time limit that I had set, so the tests were done in three phases of 320mins 305mins then to the end.

Hello guys. I recently tried to enable Miravision to our rom by extracting the apk from ecoo e04 aurora plus rom. I installed the folder with the apk in /system/app , and 2 libs associated with miravision already existed in the rom. The I added 2 lines that enable miravision at build.prop (I compared ecoo build.prop with ours)
and restarted but could not enable it. Then I found on androidiani.com forum a link with a flashable zip from recovery for the jiayu s3.
I flashed it and miravision is enabled now.
The link to download the zip is below.
