Recently, there’s been a lot of buzz surrounding Samsung and sales of the Galaxy S4, with analysts and those further down the supply chain stating that Samsung has slowed orders. Well, regardless of whether or not the Galaxy S4 is selling as well as Samsung would hope, it’s still selling pretty damn well. Back in May, Samsung came out and said that they had sold 10 Million Galaxy S4s and now, JK Shin has confirmed to reporters that they’ve sold 20 Million of these things around the world.

Speaking to reporters, JK Shin himself confirmed that the South Korean giant has sold 20 Million Galaxy S4s around the world since the device launched. That’s a hell of a lot of Galaxy S4s and easily puts the handset on track to beat the Galaxy S III’s sales record. It’s easy to see why so many people have flocked to the Galaxy S4, it might be very similar to last year’s flagship but, you know what they say – “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. We reviewed the Galaxy S4 here and found it to be another hit from Samsung. Sticking to a familiar and successful formula is good business strategy and coupled with Samsung’s marketing strength, the Galaxy S4 will go on to sell many more handsets than this.

Looking ahead for Samsung, the only real question is how much the Galaxy Note III will cut into the S4’s sales. Fans of the original Note will be coming up for an upgrade around the time the Note III launches and there are a lot of people that have skipped the S4 and are waiting for the next Note. We doubt that mainstream smartphone buyers will have too much interest in the Note III but, the niche that does is growing larger by the day.

If anything, it’s refreshing to see that the demand for smartphones in general is still as strong as it was last year, and the year before that. Samsung’s marketing cannot be beaten, not even Apple can match the incredible rhetoric that Samsung has conjured. Are these 20 Million sales just smart marketing, or is there more to it? Let us know what you think down in the comments.
