  Symposia State of the San Gabriel River Watershed Symposium

The San Gabriel River Regional Monitoring Program has been monitoring the health of surface waters throughout the San Gabriel River watershed since 2005. The Los Angeles & San Gabriel Rivers Watershed Council is proud to host this one-day symposium to bring together staff from state and local agencies, city managers and local scientists to discuss the results of five years of monitoring. Experts will discuss topics related to methods for assessing the condition of surface waters, the hydrology of the San Gabriel River, National Forest Service and Los Angeles County Department of Public Health bacteria monitoring, management of recreactional activities in lakes and fish stocking, and the economics of environmental regulation.  This is an opportunity to learn from one of the largest and most comprehensive regional monitoring programs throughout California. Special lunch-time keynote speakers include Congresswoman Grace F. Napolitano and the Honorary Mary Ann Lutz, Mayor of City of Monrovia.
