I’ve never been particularly comfortable with my body. For as long as I can remember I’ve always tried to hide my belly and avoided anything tight or revealing.

Now, I wish I was as “fat” as when I first thought I was. Since then, I’ve aged as well as had two children. Needless to say I’ve gained more than a few pounds over the years and I’m not comfortable with it.

I’ve tried increasing my steps, exercising more, and eating healthy but nothing seems to work — especially long term. It’s time to try a different approach.

That’s when I was introduced to NeuroGym. This is a brain-based program that helps you retrain your brain and reshape your body and self-image from the inside out.

I started out by taking the Weight Loss Quiz and it turns out that I have some subconscious programming which is holding me back from losing weight. One of the things John Assaraf mentions in Winning the Game of Weight Loss is that you need self acceptance and to love your body in order not to sabotage your weight loss journey and to be able to release the weight. I know, this is a tall order as we are often trained to be hypercritical of ourselves. This is why I came up with some ways to love your body — even before you lose any weight.

Ways To Love Your Body

  1. Create a list of the things your body lets you do. Be aware of what you accomplish because of your body.
  2. Wear clothes that make you feel good. You should feel attractive and choose things that match your personal style.
  3. Don’t let your feelings about your size or weight keep you from doing the things you love.
  4. Celebrate your body’s complexity. Nothing else can do what it does.
  5. Keep a list of of things you love about yourself. Refer to this list often.
  6. Surround yourself with positive people who love you for who you are, not what you weigh.
  7. Focus on being healthy. Start with small steps. You can’t eat an elephant in one bite and you can’t tackle weight loss all at once.
  8. Be at peace with your surroundings. You are meant to be at this place, in this moment, for a reason.

As I said, it was time for me to do something different. I needed to retrain my brain. After taking the Weight Loss Quiz and viewing my results, I had access to John Assarf’s free 3-hour Winning the Game of Weight Loss webinar where he presents a new approach to weight loss with experts JJ Virgin, Ari Whitten, and Mac David.

After purchasing the program you will have access for life to that 12 levels which are called Innercises. Innercises are science based techniques to help individuals unlock their brain’s fullest potential so they let go of the mental and emotional blocks that prevents him from losing weight and keeping it off.

According to John, training your brain is like training your body at the gym. Each level (which takes about a week) helps you with that training and and you must complete one level before moving to the next. In fact, doing the entire program correctly may take up to a year.

As I said before, I have a long history of thinking poorly about my body and I realized that because I felt I didn’t deserve the body I wanted (because of my “not good enough” thinking) that I was sabotaging my efforts to lose weight and was instead taking the “easy” route and not eating healthy. As I moved through the levels I realized my mindset was changing. I’ve tried to start eating healthier and made an effort to change how I felt about my body. I know it will be a long journey but I feel its something I can do!

NeuroGym teaches that you can lose weight from the inside out while developing lifelong healthy habits. If you are like me and need to learn to love your body and lose weight, start by taking the Weight Loss Quiz. I’m looking forward to where this journey will take me!
