Past Events

  • CFN Speaker Series, Dr. Ming Wang, August 28, 2017, Curris Center Theater @ 7 pm. Dr. Wang has performed over 50,000 eye procedures. Dr. Wang has published 8 textbooks and a paper in the world-renowned journal Nature. He holds several U.S. patents. He established a non-profit foundation which provides sight restoration surgeries for indigent patients who otherwise would not have the opportunity to receive them free-of-charge. Dr. Wang's life is a remarkable story of overcoming gigantic challenges, moving to America with $50 in his pocket and an American dream in his heart, earning a PhD in laser physics and graduating magna cum laude from Harvard Medical School and MIT. He embraced the Christian faith and tackled one of the most important questions of our time--Are faith and science friends or foes? This led to his invention of a breakthrough biotechnology to restore sight. His life demonstrates how focus, determination, humility, and profound faith can inspire a life that, in turn, affects countless others.
