An Edible Insect Tasting at Marx Foods; The Classics at Bar Cotto

QUEEN ANNE— Marx Foods hosts an "Edible Insect Tasting Soiree" tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m. with David "the Bug Chef" Gordon. The event is free; according to The Seattle Times the evening will include samples of armor tail scorpions, silkworms, black ants, and earthworm jerky. [Facebook/ST]

BELLTOWN— Vittles just started up a weekend brunch service. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday the 2nd Ave. restaurant is offering sweet potato hash, smoked salmon Benedict, stuffed brioche french toast, peach bellinis, mimosas, and more. [EaterWire]

CAPITOL HILL— Bar Cotto will offer a three-course prix fixe starting next month that focuses on the classics: antipasti, salumi, torta fritta, an "old-school" main course and something sweet will be served for $30 beginning November 16. Courses will change weekly, but here's the inaugural menu:
