Looks awesome! Want! I'm actually trying to find someone selling the pannels and seats in red out of an S4. Keeping my fingers crossed, but I may also go this route if it doesn't work. At a minimum I want to find S-Line drivers seats, but so far no luck.

+1 on letting it flow elsewhere in the car. love the idea, but think you can tone it down by adding more...
the red pop is lacking the continuity that makes your eye go from the door, to the dash, back around to the passenger door (if you were treating the car like a room). your eye is simply stuck on the red! if you had something red on the center, it would create visual flow.

nice job though! I saw this one on /r/audi ;)

thanks! yeah i posted it there. and yeah i know what you mean about the continuity, the thing is on the B8 there isn't really that central trim piece or anything that carries from one side to the other. like here on the B7 interior for example, you see the alu trim piece 'connects' and goes all the way from one door, to the dash, to the other door so its like one continuous line/section, while on the B8 its more separate and partitioned up so theres not that same flow. if i had the B7 interior for example i wouldve done like everything below the silver/alu trim piece red and leave the top half black, and there would've been a good flow to it. that's why i don't really wanna mess around with doing anything on the dash or center there, not many options there anyway. for now im just gonna stick to the center armrest and probably the gear shifter, i think that'll be enough to tie the front together for now without doing the actual seats yet.

Liquid Smoke please update the durability of the paint, has there been any issues with fading, peeling or wear spots on leather?

Seriously considering trying this project, thanks

so i've had the paint only on my door panels, other than your arm touching there there's not really any wear and tear so just keep that in mind, this might not apply the same way to a seating surface or even the middle armrest which would see much more

that being said, paint has held up excellent, no fading at all, no peeling, still feels nice and texture is about the same as i can remember when i put them on. i've pretty much had them for like a year now you could say, through nyc weather, i park my car in the sun alot at work so car gets hot and inside gets 100+ degrees, held up great. no complaints at all about the paint.

i'll be doing the headrests soon and will update the thread, but i expect them to hold up just as well. the only reason i havent done the seats is because 1) its hard to take it all out and spray it, 2) i dont have the sports seats so i dont have the same lines to follow and turn red, and 3) i didnt wanna loose the soft leather feel because after you paint it, it's a bit more 'plastic' feeling and more like a leatherette vinyl feel.

ended up doing these 2 front trim pieces in red, using red carbon fiber-look vinyl, to add more red and tie it all together better.

only piece left to do is the silver center trim (down by the gear shifter, not the plastic piece by the MMI screen). and then the only leather im gonna do in red as of now is the side of the headrests, just gotta find a good way to neatly mask it and paint, but its coming soon!

so i think im pretty much done with the red trim/accents on the interior. i did the headrest sides and will stop there for now, not gonna touch the seats or any other leather parts, just door panels and the headrests in red leather. then i've got all the other red cf style vinyl on some other trim pieces, and just added it to the center trim piece. i think that should do it for all the red, have a nice flow of it so it all sorta matches up, but hopefully not too much, and gonna stop here dont wanna have it become too tacky looking.

thanks! and you mean the floor mats? i actually have thought about it and will probably be doing it on the rubber floor mats, i got some plastidip for that so if anything i'll peel it off if it looks weird, but yea im planning on trying that out on the border of the rubber mat.

I meant the actual carpet. If you've seen the premium carpet with silver trim, I was thinking something along the lines of that in the same red.

Not sure about the rubber floor mats.

ah ok, yea ive seen the silver trimmed carpet before, i may try it out but it would be permanent on the carpet, but i also have the rubber floor mats on there all times so it wouldnt even show. i was thinking of doing it on the rubber mats, but like only on the bottom edge or something or just the top edge, but not like all around though.

nope i never got around to it. i was going to try the method of getting some red nylon thread and stitching 'following' the existing black. i was also thinking of a paint pen or something but that might get messy. but yeah for now i havent really gotten too serious with that, i was just going to do the gear shift and the middle armrest cushion part at most.

i would like the steering wheel too but i've decided i'll just wait a year or so until my current one is too worn and i'll upgrade to an oem red stitched one, possibly a flat bottom with the paddles but we'll see i'm not too worried about that now, havent modded much lately actually lol. i'm thinking of replacing the current red CF vinyl to a more satin metallic red, similar to the exterior.

Im in the hunt for a crimson red bonded nylon thread. No luck so far but ill post it here once i get to it. Its fairly easy to do, i tried it out with a cotton thread
