I’ve been a part of the Crown and Anchor journey from the beginning, but it does my soul some good to see how absolutely well an author develops in their writing. For those of you, who haven’t read the first two books, Careen is a continuation of the Crown and Anchor series, first telling the story from Casper/Wyatt’s point of view and his whirlwind romance. A family of sport enthusiasts, race and speed fanatics, who knew deep inside the Crown family, a bit of darkness and trouble existed? Careen by Kerri Ann focuses on Wyatt’s sister China and how she copes with grief, how she deals with her own darkness, her own insanity and the insanely hot police officer, who helps her along the way.

It’s angsty, and has all the feels. A rollercoaster ride of emotion that any romance fiction fan will appreciate. It’ll hit those spots inside of you, you didn’t realise you had. It’s THAT good. And while I loved this book, it did not come without it’s flaws. There were moments in the beginning of this book that I really felt disconnected from the characters, no matter how hard I tried to connect. And it disappointed me because I knew that if I did, this book would be an absolutely best seller. There were also moments where it dragged out and progressed really slowly that I became impatient and bitter. But good thing, my mama told me patience will always be rewarded. And that’s what happened. I got rewarded in the best way. An explosion of emotion, a burst of lust & sprinkle of excitement, this book defines love on the edge. And while it may not be as overly kinky and out there as some romances, there is something to be said about subtlety. The subtle dominance and the execution of words aiding in giving me goosebumps. And have I mentioned that the sex is sooo hot. The kind of heat that builds and when it explodes, it blinds you leaving you to your senses.

However, despite the minor flaws, I feel like crying. I feel like a proud mother watching her child ride a bike without training wheels. Because Kerri Ann has worked her butt off and it really shows through her work, how much she’s grown and developed as an author and I love her for that. I’m so glad I got to be apart of this journey and I’m looking forward to what the future brings! Hopefully, it’ll bring me the continuation of Careen and more of the character’s stories from the Crown and Anchor series! An amazing read that will keep you on your toes & have you falling in love in an instant!

Careen.

Careen is the story of China "Doll" Crown and Risen Mason. While Doll has been raised practically from birth to be the princess and pretty face of Crown Industries, she would rather be the adrenaline junkie on the track. Risen is a police officer following in his family's legacy who just can't seem to win for losing.

What happens when the the officer who can't stay out of trouble is put in the path of the princess who wants to be free? Sparks fly and you get an action packed book. This book has an amazing cast of characters. We get to know Doll's friends more intimately and we get to see more of Wyatt, Circe, and Whiskey.

This is book three in a series. If you have not read the prior two books in the story you will be missing out. This book was a much lighter read than the prior two. I laughed, I cried, and when I got to the end I wanted the next book now. In typical Kerri Ann fashion this book takes twists and turns you're not expecting it to take. Five very well earned stars with this book.

The Crowns are back!

China Crown is the princess of Crown Industries. She tries to maintain the outwardly controlled appearance that has been necessary since her father’s death and her brother’s hospitalization, but something has to give and the only way she knows how to release the danger within is on the back of a bike. That is her release from stress and her pain, it is sanctuary in the storm that is threatening to destroy her. But fate has another path for China, and it just happens to put her in the path of something she didn’t expect.

Risen Mason had a past that has scarred and made him into the person that he is and wants to be. Being a police officer is expected in his family. But that is not going so well for Risen. He has been reprimanded more than he should be and he is on the verge of losing his job. The make matters worse, he now needs to arrest a woman that he has lusted after, China Crown. Being nice is suppose to help people, but for Risen all it lands him is having to become China’s jailer and placing him in the same place with her day in and day out. Not so bad a deal, but now his past has caught up with him and he will need deal with before he can think of moving forward, with or without China in his life.

I did enjoy Careen. I will say that I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did the 1st and 2nd books, but it was enjoyable. China is an interesting character. She is just as broken as her brother, but she is broken in a different way. There were times that I wanted to slap her silly, but grief and how to deal with the stresses that her character underwent are unpredictable. And her posse is freaking hilarious as hell. I think I enjoyed her girls more than I did either China or Risen. And Risen is hot as hell and a badass that ran the wrong way and started to turn his life around. A nice story and great addition to the Crown and Anchor series.

Careen is about China, aka Doll, of Crown Industries, and pretty much the face of said company. She's expected to be perfectly put together at all times, and give the illusion that she follows the rules. Nonetheless, everything isn't quite what it seems with the Doll of Crown Industries. Risen comes from a long line of family in law enforcement, so he became a cop. Lately, he can't stop messing up, and he's about to be thrown off the force if he can't get it together. His world is shaken up when he does a routine traffic stop, only to meet China, a girl who dreams are made of, however, it quickly becomes a nightmare when he has to arrest her. Nothing I could say would ever be enough to describe how much I love the Crown family, not to mention how super addictive they are as well. The family is blowing up in every direction, which means that Doll is on her own this time. Oh how I LOVE the amazingly awesome Doll, who is such a bad a** female, that I'm girl crushing on her. Kerri Ann is such a talented, and sexy beast, which makes her my newest addiction. No matter which book I've had the privilege to read, I can promise I'm so hooked, that I'll NEVER EVER get enough , and I feel my eyes ready to leak when that last page is finished. The heart wrenching angst made me cry b*t*h baby tears, while the twists had me dropping loud f-bombs through the waterworks. Whiskey's Redemption cannot come out quickly enough to feed my Crown and Anchor Series beast, so I'll just wrap this gush session with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING Careen to ALL AND SUNDRY!

Careen is the 3rd book in the Crown and Anchor series. Although you can read this book as a standalone, you will understand the angst Careen is experiencing more fully by reading "Siren's Call" and "Casper's Ghost", Books 1 and 2, first. That being said, China is the youngest member of the Crown family. She has been left with the sole responsibility of maintaining the public persona of the racing family after tragic circumstances occur. Feeling pressured by all of the events, she takes a racing bike out to ride. Unfortunately, she is stopped by a police officer for a faulty tail light and ends up arrested due to a bench warrant.

The police officer that reluctantly takes her to jail is Risen Mason. He is constantly in trouble with his Captain and is beginning to wander if this is the right career for him. Deciding to go to the Courthouse to check on the woman that was so much trouble for him, he ends up as her Watcher, when she is given House arrest to prohibit her losing her race standings.

China and Risen are quirky, flirty, stubborn and immensely attracted to each other. Both have outlandish friends that will have you smiling and laughing throughout. Kerri Ann has written another powerhouse of a book. This book has everything needed to keep you reading until the end before you sleep. I highly recommend Careen. It has all the components you could want in an extraordinary read. I cannot wait for Whiskey's Redemption.

What happens when a sexy cop meets a sassy sex kitten that rides a motorcycle better than most men? You get Careen by Kerri Ann! Risen Mason is a tall, sexy drink of water that wears a badge. He is strong and wealthy with a side of bad boy. He gets the shock of his life when he pulls over a bike and comes face to face with the princess of the Crown family. Will he let her go or will he take her in? Will his decision end his career or give it a boost?

China Crown is someone that you meet in the first two books of the Crown and Anchor Series. I thought I had gotten to know her pretty well; however I was so wrong about her. China is strong, independent and full of sass. Can she manage to get over her losses and move on with her life? Will she be able to look at Officer Mason with respect instead of lust?

The Crown and Anchor Series is something else. Careen is book 3; and I have read the previous two which are about her brother Casper. China and Casper are really close so even though you don't technically have to read the first two before you read Careen; I would recommend it so you will have a better understanding of what China has been through.

I am glad that Careen shows China's softer side. We only see her strength in the first two books; it was refreshing seeing a different side of her. Risen was definitely put to the test with her.
Overall the book was great, a little wordy during the inner monologues but other than that Kerry Ann done a great job. I am looking forward to Whiskey's story next!!

It was nice to catch up with the Crown family, this is China's story and runs along the same timeline as Crashed, A Siren's Call. I enjoyed the emotions I got from China's point of view of the whole grieving and responsibilities she is having to deal with at such a young age. I love her close knit friends; they are hilarious and lighten the story with their wit and devotion to each other.

I do feel for China and the circumstances that have befallen the Crown kids, Jamison, Wyatt and China, and I love that China gets to feel a little fun and maybe love in her life….but I was left in a bit of limbo with the answer to that...

Risen is a sexy, moody, sexy, hunky, sexy, yummy cop! Yep. Cop, tattooed too! Oh yeah... he has a history with her brothers and their friends that winds its way into the story and causes friction. The magnetism that these two feel, and ignore, is palpable. I was very eager for them to explode…together and It wasn't disappointing. There is more to this story, and Jamison's to come. I for one need answers and to find out more about Wyatt and Circe, hopefully all will be revealed in the next story in the series.

This is defiantly worth a read if you've read the first two books in the series. It fills in some of the timeline from the previous books about Wyatt and helps you get a feel for all that China is going through.

Book 3 is China and Risen's story with a few cameos from Circe and Wyatt.

China's friend are big part of Careen and I enjoyed their characters very much. They are witty and entertaining.

Risen's is a great character and his big reveal was a surprise. Wasn't what I expected at all.

China is having a difficult time with the the losses she has suffered and the future of the racing empire and her personal life weighing on her. Risen is a rock for her to hang on to and help her stay on her feet.

Risen has his own story but seems to be dealing with it and doing his best to move on with his life even though some of the people at the police department wanting to give him hard time and hamper his future at the police force. I foresee more trouble there.

Risen and China make a great couple and have a great story to tell. Wyatt and Circe are still my favorite but I enjoyed this book very much. I do love China's friends and they add a lot of fun to the story. Looking forward to Whiskey's story in the future.

No cliffhanger just a HEA. Plenty of future fun to be had with these characters.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

After reading book one and two of the Crown and Anchor series I was excited to see that China was getting a book and that the hot cop is who she's paired up with lets just say these two meet under difficult situations that happen in Sirens call but don't worry it's retold in the beginning of Careen but I highly suggest you read the first stories in the series so you wont me confused . China is a strong/ awesome heroine she's not your average girly girl felt bad that she has been through so much loss in the span of year and did it semi alone . Risen had everything you want in a arresting officer I'd let him cuff me I'd let him cuff me all night long especially with the anaconda he hides in his pants droll . The sex scenes of coarse are really hot and the couple are their for one in the time of need . Can't wait to whats next .

'Careen' is the third book in the Crown and Anchor Series, you need to read these books in order to follow the story. Having read books 1 & 2 I really loved this series and was excited to see it continue, I'll be waiting for book 4. It was well written, kept me engaged and had plenty of emotion.

This is China's story and how she fell for police officer Risen Mason. After he arrests her while she is looking for an outlet for her pent up stress following the death of her mother and critical condition of her brother Casper, in an accident at the end of book 1. She is an amazingly strong woman, I hope she get the HEA she deserves.

Wow! Super Fantastic! Best New Book Series of 2017. Careen is the 3rd novel in The Crown & Anchor Series & should be read in order. I was hooked right into the story right from the beginning & could not put it down. A engaging novel that is seductively written with a gripping plot & sensational character's. China Doll Crown (Princess) & Risen Mason are explosive with sizzling hot off the charts chemistry & tension filled banter. With compelling supporting character's that are scintillating. This novel & series will have you on a emotional roller coaster ride of feelings with jaw-dropping moments & heartbreaking moments. I am so looking forward to reading the next novel in this series Whiskeys Redemption as I need it now. A must read novel definitely worth one-clicking. I volunteerily reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.

Wow! Kerri Ann did not disappoint on this continuation to the Crown & Anchor series. After Crashed you knew there had to be more to China's story. It picks up about where Crashed left off. China is funny, witty, & strong but even she can only take so much. You feel the overwhelming odds against her and are thankful that Risen is there to offer his strength & support. At times the banter is funny between them or her friends, giving you the laughs to bring light to some situations. The sexual tension between her and Risen is palpable and consuming. Another great read and I can't wait to see what happens next.

This is the third book in this amazing Crown & Anchor series, and is a continuation of #2 Crashed. Rised is a police officer, which is a tradition in his family, but he is always getting dragged over the coals, much to his families dismay. China has been looking after Casper in hospital, and she just need to get away for awhile. These two have an intense and explosive chemistry between them. No spoilers, please give this awesome series a go for yourself, you will not be disappointed!
I am in awe of this author’s talent, and she always has me intrigued and captivated from the very beginning. I look forward to reading more from her. I recommend this authors work for all readers.

Risen is police officer however he always seem to find himself in hot water with the department which will not go over well with his family as being a cop is a tradition in his family.

China is part of the Crown family and she just needs a break from her life as looking after Casper while he was in the hospital needs a break.
When she is pulled over by a cop she ends up arrested but she certainly didn’t expect the judge to put her in Risen’s custody for 30 days. Let the games begin.

This story has it all. There is humor, chemistry, drama, friends that you will love and characters that draw you in. This is a great addition to the series that you don’t want to miss

China is barely holding herself together after all the devastation the Crown family is dealt. When she goes to clear the cobwebs she runs into Risen, a sexy police officer, who’s forced to do his job while secretly lusting after China. A series of mishaps ties the two together and the story unfolds as they get to know each other. There are secrets from the past that come between them and it wouldn’t be a Kerri Ann book if she didn’t tease the reader with unresolved (for now) questions about what really happened, who was involved, and how does this play out. Yet again, I’m hoping the next book in the series gets here fast!

This is the third book in a series by the author. If you haven't checked out the series, you need to! This installment is the first book that focuses on China "Doll" Crown and Risen Mason. If I say was to say that I loved the book, doesn't give enough emotion. Kerri Ann pulls you into the Crown world. The characters are so well written that you can imagine meeting them while out and this includes secondary characters. I was so caught up in the book, I read it in one sitting. You will love this book! I highly recommend it!

Not going to lie - this is my favorite so far. I can't get enough of this Beauty and her Beast.

Careen is a police office that is one of the lowest men on the totem pole - worst job, yeah he's assigned to it. The highlight and worst day of his job so far was arresting China Crown. China/Doll's life is spiraling out of control. Nothing is as it used to be or should be. She's sinking, but luckily there is someone there to catch her. Forced to be in the same house can these two come to a compromise? Could it lead to more?

This is a well written story that slowly unfolds it's secrets. You know there's more to come as you furiously gobble up each page. I can't wait to read more!

PS Kerri- I sincerely hope your wicked little mind is thinking of writing at least novellas for Doll's crew. These women deserve to have their stories written.

Once again I'm captivated by the writings of Kerri Ann. I definitely need more of this series quickly. Doll and Risen have major sexual tension and a serious connection. I can't wait to find out what is in store for them in the future. For this only being book three in the series, you have so much background on everyone this far.

I loved Careen, the third book in the Crown and Anchor Series.
It's very well written, as I'd expect from Kerri Ann, and throws in a few "I didn't see that coming" moments. Doll and Risen, the biker and cop, having met as he arrests her, are thrown together and their mutual attraction is pretty hot to say the least! Add in some crazy friends and circumstances beyond their control, there's drama, lust and love, and there's a massive amount of humour here too.
I can't wait for the next book!!!

Careen by Kerri Ann continues the story of the Crown family with China "Doll" Crowns story.

China just can't catch a break. After all the tragedy that she and her siblings have faced, all china wanted to do was blow off some steam. But because of a technicality, she finds herself arrested and her bike left in an alley to be pieced out and sold off. This could really put a kink in her reputation as the princess of the Crown dynasty.

Risen is the cop who had the unfortunate job of arresting China, the object of all his college fantasies. But that's not all.

It seems fate has it in for the two. After an unfortunate mishap at a fundraiser both China and Risen find themselves literary stuck together on house arrest.

Will China finally find the man who sees the real her? Will Risen get the girl of his wildest fantasies? Or will they both crash and burn?

I loved this book right up until I reached the end. Risen seems like the perfect match for China. And after seeing her being the glue that holds everything together in previous books, it's good to see her as human and falling apart a little.

This book was Hot! The chemistry between Risen and China will have you melting!

My only complaint was the ending. I wanted more! It felt unfinished and I'm hoping to get more in the next installment.

This book does a wonderful job of prepping any readers who have not read the first two in the series, but I sure am glad that I read them first. They give this book deeper meaning and I was able to enjoy it so much more. So, while I highly suggest this story for all romance readers, my advice is to start with book one.

This one picks up right after book two, with the humorous introduction of our couple. It was a fantastic start that only got better. Officer Risen arrests the darling of the Crown empire, China. You can’t get better than that. Through a heartbreaking, yet entertaining encounter at the courthouse, he’s assigned to be her jailor for a month. Needless to say, that leads to a lot of tension, both emotional and sexual.

I had already fallen in love with China through the other books, but picking this one up without prior knowledge will not stop readers from appreciating her fiery attitude and her desolation over the tragedies that have befallen her family. Careen follows her in the immediate aftermath and how she copes, and doesn’t cope, with her hardships. Risen is fantastic. He’s a mystery and has more depth than is originally alluded to. He knows when to give her distance and when to push her towards addressing her problems. They are truly a perfect match. Unlike in many other novels, their friends are more than simple walk-on-walk-off characters. Her girlfriends are funny and touching, while his best friend is a riot. They all added beautifully to this story.

While this book is not the end of the Anchor & Crown series, it is a fantastic happily-ever-after for China. I love the book and the strength of the characters. The build-up is wonderfully done, providing background and personality to the main characters. Their relationship is electric and is more than lust-at-first-sight, although there is a lot of references to excited nether regions upon their meeting and subsequent interactions. I was so involved that I hated for the story to end, and end it did. Very abruptly. It felt a bit rushed and tied up too nicely at the very last second. I would have loved to see more of what became of them after her house arrest and his duty as her jailor was finished, but the future is not seen past a few weeks of increasing infatuation and, dare I say, love.

For the grading:

Genre and general reading age – Romance and only for mature adults. If it was a movie it would be NC-17.
Level of sexuality – Extreme. Not only are there many lustful moments that require cold showers, but the actual deed is graphic and beyond steamy. This is one story that made me blush while reading it.
Is there graphic language? Of course. China swears like a sailor and Risen mumbles obscenities under his breath throughout. It’s built into the rough exteriors of the characters.
Did I cry? No, but my heart hurt for her.
Did I laugh? I chuckled a few times. It’s extremely entertaining, but has serious undertones that make it more drama than ha-ha.
Is this part of a series? This is book three in the Crown & Anchor series. Next up, Whiskey gets his turn.
Level of character development – Both of the main characters are highly developed. They are loveable and remain consistent all the way through. It would have been great to see a little more of Risen and his decision about what his future holds beyond the story, but watching China accept what has happened and try to move on was a joy. She goes from a spoiled kid to a more mature adult who is ready to listen before making judgements.

Out of the three books currently available, this is by far my favorite. I’m relieved that I read the others and I believe other readers will find a greater appreciation for China if they read those, as well. That said, it is a wonderful book with characters that are relatable, aside from the obscene wealth, and are a pleasure to watch evolve. If there had been just a little more end to the ending it would have been a solid five. Even though I could have stood more, I’m happy to award it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 stars. All romance readers, especially those that love the hot moments, should pick this up.

CAREEN is the third novel in Kerri Ann's Crown and Anchor Series and once again she has kept me totally intrigued. Kerri Ann certainly knows how to write a brilliant story.

This book is China's story. China (Doll) has decided to escape her environment and regain her energy after looking after Casper for so long. China needed to rediscover herself and survive the end of the world as she knew it. Along her journey she meets risen, a cop who is just not winning in his life - everything he touches just turns into a huge disaster. Can the two lost people help each other to discover their true selves?

Once again Kerri Ann has given her reader an absolutely flawless story. It is one that will have you tettering on every word written. A heartbreaking, sensual, intense and joous read that will have your emotions riding a non-stop mery-go-round.

The Crown and Anchor Series is one which has been written by an extraordinary writer. I have thoroughly enjoyed all three books so far, and I cannot wait until the next one is released.

Strong Start and Finish

I loved the chemistry between Doll and Risen!! (Why is why I gave this 4 stars) I felt like we didn’t really get a lot of scenes for them until a little more than had way through the book.

This story starts off during Sirens Call, so you’re doing a bit of rereading. I liked seeing things from Dolls point of view and she’s just a bad @$$. Also, I loved Risen’s personal journey and finding his back story.

My only issue with the book is that I felt again like there was too much filler in this book, the story kinda lost momentum for me a few times during the middle so I skimmed through some chapters.

Also while we meet different characters throughout the story I feel like we never really know any of them, they just seem like commentators sometimes. There were a few times were I felt like the main characters didn’t really come of off the page as strongly during certain times of the book and it made connecting with them difficult (I usually skimmed through these sections).

This third book of the series is about China "Doll" Crown, yet another daredevil in the Crown family. In book two, she gets pulled over by Officer Risen Mason.
Risen don't have an easy time working as a law enforcer. He has a very problematic past. And without giving away spoilers, Risen and China get to know each other. And Risen isn't who China thought he'd be. But Risen see China!

"For years I’ve been the pest, the distraction, and the one in the way of everyone else’s future. No more."

China wishes she "wasn't the sweetheart Doll of Crown Industries that everyone envisions."
Risen worries about his job, his chief and his family. And what they all want him to be. Not who he is.

"-Inside scars are the hardest ones to cover."

OMG Careen is fan-freaking-tasting. Careen is the third book in the Crown and Anchor series. This book is beyond amazing and I absolutely loved it. Kerri is very talented lady and she literally pulls you into the story. Not only do I feel all the emotions from all the characters but I feel part of their family and have been watching their story unfold from the beginning. This book is the story Doll and Risen and I love them both. Their story is beautiful, heartbreaking, many tears and happiness throughout the book. OH, the chemistry between Risen and Doll is intense, hot, sexy and steamy that will have you melting in the spot. I highly recommend this book and I can not wait for the next book in the series.

To be honest I struggled with wanting to read this one. At the end of the last book I really didn't like the h in this book. But I'm am so glad I got over that and finally read it. Risen, the H, is simply scrumptious. He was strong, he was damaged, he had a heart, and he wasn't afraid of doling out a good spanking. He was the type of character you could just keep reading about. China was broken, it showed you her side of things. Risen's being there for her was endearing. She redeemed herself in many ways, but I still kind of found her selfish. She had whole lot going on so she was in her head. I get that. I guess I wanted to see her fight for him a little more. He deserved it. Would I recommend this book, absolutely.

This is the third book in the Crown and Anchor Series. The saga of the Crown family continues. This book is about China "Doll" who after spending so long in the hospital looking after Casper, needs to get away for a while. It is also about Risen, the cop who seems to always get into trouble with his captain while trying to prove himself.

Doll and her friends are a force to be reckoned with. When they get together it spells trouble.
You don't want to miss finding out what happens when the rebellious Doll and Risen collide.

When you have all of this together in a story, watch out!!

It is definitely a must read!!

Risen and China might have been elevated to my favorite of the series so far and that's saying a lot. Spunky, full of fire, and dealing with life-altering loss, the princess of the Crown family is thrown together with Uber-sexy cop with a past Risen. What concludes is tension-filled banter that explodes into hotter than sin relationship that had me glued to my kindle. The layering of the hysterical and vivid secondary characters made me laugh out loud and would love to see them all again. Two incredibly strong, alpha characters slammed together is one that you won't want to miss!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!
