Chris Pratt Thanks Wife Anna Faris in Emotional Hollywood Walk of Fame Speech: 'You Have My Heart'

Chris Pratt is officially a member of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and he had no shortage of people to thank for helping him get there during his acceptance ceremony on Friday.

Joined by friends, family, coworkers and a crowd of fans, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star was introduced by his wife, Anna Faris, who gave an emotional speech thanking him for all that he does for her.

“This is actually a thank-you speech,” she began. “I’m the beneficiary of all this because I get to spend every day with this wonderful man … I know that if our circumstances were different and we weren’t as fortunate to be standing here and living our Hollywood life, we would be happy in the woods together, I think.”

She then spoke about their son Jack, who was born prematurely with health complications. “He stood by me and held me and was my anchor,” she said of Pratt. Jack, 4, was in attendance, and stole the show when it came time to take pictures (below).

Faris also thanked Pratt for his sense of humor, saying, “At the premiere of Guardians 2, on the red carpet he whispered something unbelievably inappropriate into my ear and it was awesome. Honey, I want to thank you for being the most incredible person. I love you so much.”

Pratt was visibly emotional when he took the podium. “I’m a man of faith and I believe that God works in mysterious ways and gives us signs and gifts in life — and those gifts oftentimes come in the form of people,” he began. “So I’ll just spend the rest of my time expressing gratitude for the people in my life who are gifts.”

Speaking first to his mother, Pratt said, “She gave absolutely everything she had to raise us, every fiber of her being. And oftentimes we weren’t cash-rich, but we were never love-poor. You gave everything and you were always proud of me, way before this. When I was a waiter at Coco’s you just couldn’t get enough of me.”

He went on to thank his brother Cully, saying, “He is my star and always has been. He played a major supporting role in raising me, and was a big fan of mine and always guided me and I love you.” To his sister Angie, Pratt said, “She taught me how to fight, she taught me how to value emotions, she taught me how to have a backbone and she made some profound sacrifices for our family, so that I could be down here chasing my dreams.”

Thanking Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn, Pratt said, “It’s changed so many lives: My life, my wife’s life, the lives of children in hospitals, the lives of my real estate agent, my great grandkids — they’re all going to benefit.”

He thanked his team, including his agent Jason Heyman and his manager Julie Darmody, saying, “I feel as though I’m just the shiny hood ornament on a well-oiled machine that they drive every single day.”

Finally, speaking to his wife in the audience, Pratt said, “I want to thank my wife Anna, I love you. You’ve given me so much. You gave me the greatest star in the galaxy in my little boy, I love him and I love you.”

He added, “We have bonded to make this molecule that is more important to me than air or water, and without it none of this means anything to me. With every challenge, with every day, week, month, decade, we become more bonded. You make me laugh like nobody else. You’re very caring, and thank you for your trust and your sacrifice — and for your dedication and your heart. I will do my best to protect it, and in return I will give you all of those things as well. You have my heart, my dedication, my trust.”

Afterward, Pratt reflected on his momentous day, telling PEOPLE he felt like he was in “the eye of the storm.”

“It feels great,” he said. “It feels a little bit like I’m in the eye of the storm so it’s calm, but I know there’s some pretty wild things happening all around me.”

He also opened up about son Jack for the big day.

“We’re trying to keep him abreast of what’s happening, and we’re just telling him in the most practical terms what’s happening, and it’s this is Mommy and Daddy’s job and I’ve been given this honor,” Pratt shared. “Last night I was telling him, ‘Tomorrow there are going to be people there and they’re going to want to see you and take your picture. It’s important for us to be an example and try to smile and be gracious and keep our shoes tied and no boogers hanging out of our noses.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters May 5.
