Red Dead Redemption Sales Rank Jumps 6000% in the UK on Amazon - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 06 July 2016 / 4,164 ViewsIt was recently announced that Red Dead Redemption would be hitting backwards compatibility on Friday, July 8th.
Now, as with Call of Duty: Black Ops, which received a massive sales boost in May and June following its inclusion in the backwards compatibility program, the Amazon sales rank for the original Red Dead Redemption has jumped up over 6000% since the announcement, while the sales rank of the GotY edition having jumped up by around 2000%, so expect to see the 2010 release re-enter the charts.

Good reason to keep your Xbox even if you own a PC, backwards compatability is amazing! The X360 has a library that begs to be replayed :)
indeed, not even an xbox one pc can play Red dead as of yet, this addition to BC is very well received by the fans it seems.
It's not the sales that have incteased 6000%, it's the ranking.
I agree. Amazon doesn't have a proper "sales" ranking as it's a mixture of hits and sales.
Finally someone who did mind to do some basic math. Thank you !
The US Amazon rankings for it got a boost as well.
Thats pretty incredible. BC has been a bigger success than ever anticipated.
I'm sure MS is planning to bring more notable titles as well. So the hype for BC will keep going.
@Mr Puggsly Right ... I did say people are buying it, my point was to give you an accurate account of what the 6000 means. And the 60% only relates to rank not sales, so yeah, a few more people than normal are buying RDR. arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/07/no-red-dead-redemption-sales-probably-arent-up-6000/
It takes more than a few to cause a jump like that. But whatever, downplay if you want.
Which in reality equals 60%, which by itself doesn't really tell us much, except maybe a couple people bought some used copies of RDR.
I just checked top sellers on Amazon in the US, Red Dead on the 360 is #12. No need to downplay, BC is clearly moving copies both physically and digitally.
If they were unsure this should help.
