Ratchet & Clank Tops UK Charts, Dark Souls III Drops 80% - News
by Craig S , posted on 25 April 2016 / 5,770 ViewsInsomniac's Ratchet & Clank has had a successful launch in the UK, topping the charts in its first week on sale in the country according to Chart-Track. This follows on from a very strong first week in America.
Dark Souls III, meanwhile, was down considerably - 80% - following an impressive debut week. Second week sales are therefore likely very similar to the second weeks for the original Dark Souls and Dark Souls II, but thanks to a higher-than-expected first week it still has a very healthy aligned lead in the country over all past entries, including spiritual successor Bloodborne.
The other major new release of the week - Nintendo's Star Fox Zero - managed to claim sixth place on the combined chart and third on the individual format chart.
Here are the top 10 best-selling titles (combined sales) for the week:
1. Ratchet & Clank
2. Dark Souls III
3. Star Wars Battlefront
4. Tom Clancy's The Division
5. EA Sports UFC 2
6. Star Fox Zero
7. Call of Duty: Black Ops III
8. FIFA 16
9. Quantum Break
10. DiRT Rally

What an amazing success! I think this proves that certain single player offline only titles can really work at $40 or $50.
Happy for Insomniac. Good to see QB still holding.
Ratchet & Clank has three times as high first week sales as the previous record holder (A Crack in Time).
Wooohoooo!!!!
Well Deserved, its the best platformer on the PS4 and its released at a budget price, this should sell well worldwide, great job insomniac!
I'm so happy to see Ratchet topping the chart. Hope there's another one on the making, these games are amazing.
Happy for ratchet & clank hope it has a strong legs.
This is how reboots should be done. Everything about the new Ratchet and Clank is everything that made me love the series from the beginning. So glad to see them back on top!
Got it and loving it.
So happy for Ratchet & Clank and Insomniac! One of my favourite developers because of how much they do for this franchise and how polished and fun their games are. I'm enjoying the reboot immensely, especially because I only got into the series beginning with Tools of Destruction all the way up to Into The Nexus, including the portable Size Matters. Skipped All 4 One and Q-Force because the demos didn't grab me much and the story-based single player games are the true gems!
Sony should promote Ratchet more!
