Whether you are a small and mid-sized business, not-for-profit organization, or an IT and e-commerce vendor, a cyber-security problem can cause a tremendous amount of harm to your reputation and finances. To help you avoid these problems, the State of New York has partnered with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) to bring the “5 Steps To Better Business Cybersecurity” program to New York State. This program being demonstrated offers training and education materials that will help your organization to learn how to protect yourself from cyber-attacks

Please join as we host a workshop presenting the “5 Steps to Better Business Cybersecurity” applied to a hypothetical small business and not-for-profit organization experiencing cyber incidents. Familiar systems such as email and point-of-sale are examined using the 5-Step Approach.  An all-too-familiar scenario of a lost mobile device is explored to determine the effectiveness of the company’s defenses and strategies for improvements.  Every attendee will take away at least one strategy to improve cybersecurity resilience in their own organization.
