The Battle of the Flames
With the tens of thousands of dahlia varieties in existence, it can be overwhelming to know which are the best varieties for cut flower growing. Our survey project team aims to change that, by inviting input from US dahlia growers through our ongoing series of surveys, culminating in a set of results from which it will be easy to see which dahlias 'make the cut'.

Help us understand strengths and weaknesses of each cultivar, as we compare similar varieties against each other to see who has what it takes to be an outstanding variety for the cut flower business or hobbyist.

We have pulled together the most widely available dahlias in the USA that are classified as 'flame' by the American Dahlia Society. This survey goes past the tried and true Show Varieties- there will be no questions on how they might score on a show bench, but plenty on how they thrive in the garden.

The results will be made available through the American Dahlia Society and social media sites. Your individual survey responses will be strictly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate. Contact information will remain confidential, and only be used in the context of the survey series.  There is absolutely no financial gain or outside commercial push to this survey.
